第109章 "Bloodstained Lies"
一念永恒
**Chapter 109: The Unraveling Web**
White Xiaopu's eyes narrowed as the stranger's words pierced his soul like a knife. "You're the one responsible for Ling'er's disappearance?" he repeated, his voice low and menacing.
The stranger didn't flinch, their gaze unwavering. "You were the last person she was seen with. You must know something."
White Xiaopu's grip on his sword tightened, his instincts screaming at him to defend himself. But he hesitated, his mind racing with the implications. Ling'er, his friend, his confidant... was she truly gone?
The stranger took a step closer, their eyes burning with an intense determination. "Tell me, White Xiaopu, where is she?"
White Xiaopu's face twisted in a snarl. "I don't know what you're talking about. I didn't take her anywhere."
The stranger's gaze didn't waver. "Don't lie to me. I have proof. You see, I've been watching you, White Xiaopu. I know all about your little indiscretions, your secrets, your lies."
White Xiaopu's blood boiled at the stranger's words. Who was this person, and how did they know so much about him? But before he could respond, a rustling sound came from the courtyard, drawing their attention.
A figure emerged from the shadows, her eyes gleaming with an otherworldly light. It was Ling'er, or at least, it seemed to be. But something was off, something was terribly wrong.
"Ah, Ling'er," the stranger whispered, their voice filled with longing. "You're finally back."
Ling'er's gaze drifted towards White Xiaopu, her eyes vacant, her expression cold. "White Xiaopu," she whispered, her voice like a winter breeze. "I've been waiting for you."
White Xiaopu's heart skipped a beat as he sensed something was fundamentally wrong. Ling'er's eyes, once bright with warmth and friendship, now seemed to hold a chilling malevolence.
The stranger's laughter echoed through the courtyard, sending shivers down White Xiaopu's spine. "It seems the web of deceit has finally unraveled," they said, their eyes gleaming with triumph. "And now, White Xiaopu, you're trapped."
As the stranger disappeared into the shadows, Ling'er's gaze never left White Xiaopu's, her eyes burning with an unnatural intensity. White Xiaopu knew he had to get out of there, but his legs were frozen, his mind reeling with the implications.
Suddenly, Ling'er's eyes flashed with a blinding light, and White Xiaopu felt himself being pulled towards her. He tried to resist, but it was too late. He was sucked into a vortex of darkness, and everything went black.
To be continued...
