第78章 "权力的考验" (The Test of Power)

铁血战王

**78章:「权力之争」**

The room fell silent, with all eyes fixed on Captain Zhang and Lin Hao. The tension was palpable, and the air was electric with anticipation. Captain Zhang's words seemed to hang in the air, daring Lin Hao to respond.

Lin Hao stood tall, his eyes never leaving Captain Zhang's face. He could feel the weight of the other soldiers' gazes on him, and he knew he had to respond. "Captain, I understand your concerns, but I believe I'm ready to take on the challenges of being a team leader," he said, his voice firm but respectful.

Captain Zhang snorted. "Ready? You call being a rookie ready? You're just a hot-headed kid who thinks he knows it all!" He sneered, his anger boiling over.

Lin Hao's face remained calm, but his heart was racing. He knew he had to keep his cool if he wanted to prove himself. "With all due respect, Captain, I may not have as much experience as the rest of you, but I've shown my skills and dedication in training. I think I deserve a chance to prove myself," he said, his voice steady.

The other soldiers in the room began to murmur, some nodding in agreement with Lin Hao, while others shook their heads in disapproval. Captain Zhang's face turned an even deeper shade of red, and he slammed his fist on the table again. "Enough! You're not even qualified to be a team leader, let alone lead a mission!"

The room erupted into chaos, with soldiers shouting and arguing. Lin Hao felt his anger rising, but he knew he had to keep his cool. He took a deep breath and stepped forward, his eyes locked on Captain Zhang. "Captain, I understand your concerns, but I believe I can prove myself. Will you give me a chance to do so?"

Captain Zhang's eyes narrowed, his anger still simmering just below the surface. He glared at Lin Hao, then turned to the other soldiers. "Alright, let's settle this once and for all. I'll give Lin Hao a chance to prove himself. We'll have a mission, and if he can complete it successfully, I'll consider him for the team leader position."

The room fell silent, with all eyes fixed on Captain Zhang. Lin Hao felt a surge of excitement and relief, but he knew he had to stay focused. He was about to receive his first mission as a team leader, and he had to make sure he succeeded.

And then, just as suddenly as it had started, the meeting was adjourned. Captain Zhang turned to Lin Hao. "Get to your team and prepare for the mission. We'll debrief afterwards."

Lin Hao nodded, feeling a mix of emotions. He was excited for the challenge ahead, but he also knew that he had a lot to prove. He turned to leave, but Captain Zhang called out to him. "And Lin Hao?"

"Yes, Captain?" Lin Hao replied, turning back around.

"You'd better not disappoint me," Captain Zhang said, his eyes glinting with a warning. "This mission is not just about proving yourself, it's about serving the country. Don't forget that."

Lin Hao nodded, feeling a surge of determination. He knew he had to succeed, not just for himself, but for his country. He turned and left the room, his heart racing with anticipation.

But as he walked out of the room, he couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off. The mission felt too easy, too straightforward. What was Captain Zhang hiding? And what lay in store for Lin Hao and his team?
