**Chapter 28: The Confrontation**

Lin Feng's gaze remained fixed on Jaxon, his mind reeling from the betrayal. He couldn't believe that the person he considered a brother had been hiding the truth from him for so long. The team's trusty point guard was now a traitor in his eyes.

"You're telling me that you knew about my past life all along?" Lin Feng's voice was low and even, but his words dripped with anger and hurt.

Jaxon nodded, a mixture of guilt and nervousness written across his face. "I'm sorry, Lin. I know it's a lot to take in, but I had to protect myself. I had to protect our team."

Lin Feng's eyes narrowed. "Protect our team? By lying to me and deceiving me? You call that protection?"

"Lin, please understand—"

"No!" Lin Feng cut him off, his voice rising. "I don't want to understand. I want to know why. Why did you do this to me?"

Jaxon took a deep breath. "I did it because I was scared, Lin. I was scared that if you found out about your past, you would leave us. You would go back to your old life and leave us behind."

Lin Feng's laughter was bitter. "You really think I would do that? You really think I would abandon my teammates and my friends for some selfish reason?"

Jaxon looked down, shamefaced. "I don't know, Lin. I was wrong. I was wrong to doubt you."

The room fell silent, the only sound the heavy breathing of the two players. Lin Feng's mind was racing, trying to process the betrayal and hurt he was feeling.

Suddenly, the door burst open and Coach Wang stormed in. "What's going on here?" he demanded, his voice firm.

Lin Feng turned to him, his eyes blazing with anger. "Jaxon told me the truth, Coach. He's been hiding my past life from me all along."

Coach Wang's expression turned grave. "Jaxon, what's going on?"

Jaxon hesitated before speaking. "Coach, I—"

"No, Jaxon." Lin Feng cut him off, his voice cold. "Don't bother explaining. Coach will see the truth."

Coach Wang's eyes narrowed. "Lin, what's going on here is a serious matter. We need to talk about this."

But Lin Feng was already walking away, his heart heavy with hurt and betrayal. He didn't care about anything anymore. He just wanted to get out of there and be alone.

As he left the gym, he couldn't help but wonder what other secrets Jaxon had been hiding. And what did it mean for his future on the team?
