**Chapter 27: The Betrayal**
Lin Feng's eyes narrowed as he stared at Jaxon, his mind racing with the implications of what he had just been told. He couldn't believe that his trusty teammate, his partner in crime on the court, could be hiding such a deep secret.
"So, you're saying that you've been playing me the entire time?" Lin Feng's voice was low and even, but a hint of anger simmered beneath the surface.
Jaxon's expression remained calm, but a flicker of guilt danced in his eyes. "I didn't mean to hurt you, Lin. I was just trying to protect you."
"Protect me?" Lin Feng's laugh was bitter. "You're supposed to be my friend, my brother on the court. How could you do this to me?"
Jaxon took a step closer, his voice laced with desperation. "Listen, Lin, I know it looks bad, but I swear to you, it was for the best. You were heading down a dangerous path, and I didn't want to see you get hurt."
Lin Feng's eyes flashed with anger. "You think you're doing what's best for me? You think you're better than me?"
The air was thick with tension as the two friends stared each other down. Lin Feng's mind was reeling with the revelation, and he couldn't help but feel a sense of betrayal.
Suddenly, the sound of footsteps echoed down the hallway, and Lin Feng's coach, Chen, appeared in the doorway. "What's going on here?" he asked, his voice firm but concerned.
Lin Feng's eyes flicked to Jaxon, and then back to Chen. "We were just having a little... discussion, coach."
Chen's eyes narrowed. "I don't like the look of this. Let's get one thing straight - we're a team, and we work together. No backstabbing, no betrayal. We're all in this together, or we're all out."
Lin Feng's eyes flashed with anger again, but a glimmer of understanding crept in. Chen was right. They were a team, and they needed to work together if they wanted to succeed.
But as he turned to leave, a shadow fell across the floor, and Lin Feng's heart skipped a beat. What was Jaxon hiding? What was he planning?
"Coach, can I talk to you for a minute?" Jaxon asked, his voice low and urgent.
Chen's eyes flicked to Lin Feng before returning to Jaxon. "What is it?"
"It's about Lin," Jaxon said, his voice dripping with malice. "I think it's time we had a little chat about his future on the team."
Lin Feng's heart sank as he felt the ground shift beneath him. What was Jaxon plotting? And what did he mean by "Lin's future on the team"?
