**Chapter 29: The Fallout**
Lin Feng's eyes burned with a fierce intensity as he gazed at Jaxon, his mind still reeling from the shocking revelation. "You knew about this all along, didn't you?" he growled, his voice low and menacing.
Jaxon's face paled, his eyes darting nervously around the room. "What are you talking about, Lin?" he stammered, his voice trembling.
"Don't play dumb with me, Jaxon," Lin Feng snapped, his anger boiling over. "You knew about my past, about my rehab, and about the accident. You knew everything."
Jaxon's shoulders slumped, defeat written all over his face. "I...I didn't mean to hurt you, Lin. I just didn't want you to know the truth."
Lin Feng's anger surged, his fists clenched at his sides. "The truth?" he repeated, his voice cracking with emotion. "You call this the truth? You call betraying my trust the truth?"
Jaxon looked up at Lin Feng, his eyes filled with a mix of guilt and desperation. "Please, Lin, just listen to me. I was scared. I didn't know how to tell you, and I didn't want to lose our friendship."
Lin Feng's anger faltered, replaced by a deep sadness. He felt like he'd been punched in the gut, his trust and loyalty shattered into a million pieces. "You've already lost my trust, Jaxon," he said, his voice heavy with sorrow. "I don't know if I can ever forgive you for this."
The room fell silent, the only sound the heavy breathing of the two former friends. Lin Feng's mind was reeling with the implications of Jaxon's betrayal. He felt like he was drowning in a sea of uncertainty, unsure of what to do next.
As the minutes ticked by, Lin Feng's anger slowly gave way to a cold, calculating determination. He would confront Jaxon, would make him pay for his betrayal. And then, he would pick up the pieces of his shattered life and move on.
But for now, he just sat there, his eyes fixed on Jaxon, his heart heavy with the weight of betrayal.
The silence between them was oppressive, a physical presence that seemed to vibrate with tension. Lin Feng's eyes never left Jaxon's, his mind racing with the consequences of what had happened.
And then, just as suddenly as it had begun, the silence was broken. Lin Feng stood up, his movements economical and deadly precise.
"I'm done talking," he said, his voice cold and detached. "I'll be back, Jaxon. And when I am, you'd better be ready to face the consequences of your betrayal."
With that, Lin Feng turned and walked away, leaving Jaxon to face the fallout of his own actions. But as he disappeared into the darkness, Jaxon knew that this was far from over. The battle was just beginning, and when it was done, only one person would be left standing.
To be continued...
