**Chapter 26: The Whispering Walls**
Chen Yang's eyes never wavered from the girl's, his expression unreadable. "I know you're not telling me everything," he pressed, his voice steady. "What's going on?"
The girl's gaze faltered, and she glanced away, her cheeks flushing with a mixture of guilt and embarrassment. Chen Yang's intuition screamed that she was hiding something big.
"Look at me," he commanded, his tone firm but not unkind. "Tell me the truth."
The girl's eyes snapped back to his, and she hesitated before speaking. "It's just...the Sword Pavilion...they're not what they seem."
Chen Yang's eyebrows shot up in surprise. "What do you mean?"
The girl took a deep breath, her voice barely above a whisper. "They're hiding secrets. Secrets about the sword and about the swordsmen."
Chen Yang's grip on his sword tightened, his mind racing with the implications. "What kind of secrets?"
The girl's eyes darted around the room, as if she feared being overheard. "I don't know exactly, but I've heard whispers...rumors about a powerful sword...one that can change the course of history."
Chen Yang's eyes narrowed. "What kind of sword?"
The girl's voice dropped to a whisper. "The legendary Sword of Light."
Chen Yang's thoughts reeled as he processed the information. The Sword of Light was a myth, a legend whispered among the swordsmen. It was said to be able to cut through any material, including the very fabric of reality.
Suddenly, the room seemed to shrink, and the air grew thick with tension. Chen Yang's gaze locked onto the girl's, his mind racing with the possibilities.
"You're telling me that the Sword Pavilion is hiding the Sword of Light?" he repeated, his voice low and deadly.
The girl's eyes widened, and she nodded fearfully. "Y-yes. I'm not supposed to know, but...but I saw something. A symbol, etched onto the wall. It was a mark of the Sword of Light."
Chen Yang's eyes scanned the room, his gaze lingering on the walls. And then, he saw it – a faint symbol etched into the stone, a symbol that sent a shiver down his spine.
He turned back to the girl, his voice cold and calculated. "You're right. The Sword Pavilion is hiding something. And I'm going to find out what."
The girl's eyes widened in fear as Chen Yang turned to leave, his mind already racing with the possibilities. What secrets lay hidden behind the Sword Pavilion's walls? And what would Chen Yang do when he uncovered the truth?
As he walked away, the symbol on the wall seemed to whisper in his ear – "The truth is hidden, Chen Yang. But are you prepared to face it?"
