Lin Yuan's eyes didn't waver from the mirror as he whispered, "What do you want from me?" The Shadow within the reflection seemed to be listening, its presence growing more palpable. Lin Yuan felt a shiver run down his spine as he wondered if he was truly alone in the waking world.

Suddenly, the lights in the room began to flicker, and the air grew thick with an eerie, unsettling energy. Lin Yuan's grip on the mirror tightened as he sensed the Shadow was about to manifest.

"Get out of my head!" Lin Yuan shouted, his voice echoing off the walls.

The Shadow didn't flinch, its presence only growing stronger. Lin Yuan felt his mind being pulled towards the mirror, as if he was being drawn into the darkness beyond.

"Su Yuan, you're not listening to the whispers within," a low, raspy voice whispered in his ear. "The Shadow is calling, and you must respond."

Lin Yuan spun around, his eyes scanning the room for an invisible assailant. "Who's there?" he demanded, his hand reaching for the System chip on his wrist.

"I am the herald of the Shadow," the voice replied, its tone dripping with malevolence. "And you, Su Yuan, are its chosen one."

With a sudden burst of energy, the room plunged into darkness. Lin Yuan was left stumbling in the void, his senses overwhelmed by the cacophony of whispers and shadows.

When the lights flickered back to life, Lin Yuan found himself facing a figure shrouded in darkness. The air was heavy with the scent of decay and death.

"Who are you?" Lin Yuan demanded, his voice shaking with fear.

The figure stepped forward, its features revealed in the dim light. It was a woman with skin as white as marble, her eyes sunken and her lips twisted in a perpetual snarl.

"I am the mistress of the Shadow," she hissed, her voice like a rusty gate. "And you, Su Yuan, are its key."

Lin Yuan's mind reeled as the woman's words hung in the air, his thoughts consumed by the implications of her statement. Who was this woman, and what did she mean by the Shadow?

As he stood frozen in terror, the woman's eyes locked onto his, and Lin Yuan felt the Shadow's power coursing through his veins. The room seemed to grow darker, the shadows twisting and writhing like living things.

And then, everything went black.

When Lin Yuan came to, he found himself back in the System's log-in screen. The words "Failed Log-in Attempt" flashed across the screen, accompanied by a warning message: "Unstable System Alert: Shadow Injection Detected. System Integrity at Risk."

As Lin Yuan's eyes widened in horror, the screen flickered and went dark, leaving him with more questions than answers. What had just happened? And what did it mean for his journey through the multiverse?
