诸天万界之旅

**Chapter 25: The Unseen Guardians**

Lin Yuan's eyes blazed with determination as he stood before Cloud Peak, his voice firm and unwavering. "I'll prove it to you, Professor. I'll retrieve the ancient artifacts and bring them back to you."

Cloud Peak's expression remained skeptical, but Lin Yuan could sense a glimmer of curiosity in his eyes. "Very well, Lin Yuan. But be warned: the ancient ruins are treacherous, and you'll need all your wits and cunning to survive."

With a nod, Lin Yuan activated the system and vanished from Cloud Peak's presence. He reappeared a moment later, standing at the entrance of the ancient ruins.

The air was thick with an eerie silence, and the only sound was the soft rustling of ancient parchment. Lin Yuan's senses were on high alert as he ventured deeper into the ruins, his eyes scanning the dusty tombs and crumbling statues.

Suddenly, he heard a faint whisper in his ear. "You shouldn't be here."

Lin Yuan spun around, but there was no one in sight. The whisper seemed to come from all around him, echoing off the ancient stones.

"Who's there?" Lin Yuan demanded, his hand on the hilt of his sword.

The whisper grew louder, more urgent. "Leave now, while you still can. This place is not for mortals."

Lin Yuan's grip on his sword tightened. "I'm not afraid of ancient traps or ghostly apparitions. I'm here for proof, and I'll get it."

The whisper grew more menacing, but Lin Yuan stood his ground. Suddenly, a figure emerged from the shadows. It was a woman, her eyes glowing with an otherworldly energy.

"You dare to disturb the rest of the ancients?" she spat, her voice like a whip crack.

Lin Yuan's eyes locked onto her, his mind racing. Who was this woman, and what was her connection to the ancient artifacts?

"I'm here for the truth," he replied, his voice steady. "And I won't leave until I find it."

The woman's eyes flashed with anger, and Lin Yuan could sense the air around him begin to charge with electricity. It was going to be a long and deadly fight.

And as the woman lunged at him, Lin Yuan drew his sword, ready to face whatever lay ahead.

But just as the battle began, the whispers in his ear grew louder, more urgent. "Lin Yuan, no! Don't do it!"

And with that, everything went dark.

To be continued...
