第114章 "A Web of Deceit"

一念永恒

**Chapter 114: The Web of Truth**

White Xiaopu's gaze never wavered, his eyes boring into the stranger's like a hot knife through butter. "You're lying," he spat, his voice low and even.

The stranger, sensing the intense scrutiny, shifted uncomfortably under White Xiaopu's piercing stare. "I'm telling the truth," he protested, his voice laced with a hint of desperation.

White Xiaopu snorted, his disgust evident. "You expect me to believe that Ling'er is alive, and you're the one who knows where she is? You're just trying to cover your own ass!"

The stranger's expression turned cold, his eyes flashing with anger. "I'm not trying to deceive you, White Xiaopu. I'm trying to help you."

Just as it seemed that the stranger's words were about to break through White Xiaopu's defenses, a commotion erupted outside the room. The sound of shattering glass and thudding footsteps drew their attention.

"What's going on?" White Xiaopu demanded, his eyes flicking to the door.

The stranger's face turned grim. "I think we have a problem. Looks like someone's trying to intercept us."

Without waiting for further explanation, White Xiaopu spun around and charged towards the door, the stranger hot on his heels. They burst into the hallway, where they found a group of men armed to the teeth, their eyes fixed on the pair with a mixture of hatred and malice.

"Ah, perfect timing," the stranger muttered, his hand instinctively reaching for the hilt of his sword.

White Xiaopu's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with the sudden turn of events. "Who are these people?"

The stranger's gaze flicked to White Xiaopu. "I think it's the Red Vipers, a group of assassins linked to the Scarlet Clan."

White Xiaopu's grip on his sword tightened, his thoughts racing with the implications. "Looks like we have a bigger problem on our hands than just finding Ling'er."

As the Red Vipers closed in, White Xiaopu found himself face to face with the ultimate test of his courage and wits. Would he be able to overcome the obstacles and finally find Ling'er, or would the shadows of doubt and deceit consume him?

The outcome hung precariously in the balance, as the battle for the truth raged on...
