**The 82nd Chapter: The Traitor's Revelation**

Lemuel's eyes never left Nova's face, his anger simmering like a pot about to boil over. "You knew," he growled, his voice low and menacing. "You knew the whole time."

Nova's eyes snapped up, a flash of defiance sparking in their depths. "What are you talking about, Lemuel?" she asked, her voice innocent to the point of being almost laughable.

"Don't play dumb, Nova," Lemuel sneered. "You were in on it from the start. You knew the coordinates of the escape route, and you didn't tell me."

Nova's expression faltered, a flicker of guilt crossing her face before she regained her composure. "I...I didn't want to get you involved," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Lemuel's laughter was a cold, hard thing. "Involved? You didn't want me to get involved? You're the one who's been playing me all along, Nova. You're the traitor."

Nova's eyes flashed with anger, and for a moment, Lemuel thought she might lash out at him. But then she seemed to rein in her emotions, her gaze dropping to the ground. "I was trying to protect you, Lemuel," she said, her voice barely audible.

Lemuel's anger boiled over, and he took a step closer to Nova, his fists clenched at his sides. "Protect me? You're the one who's been putting me in danger all along. You're the one who's been hiding things from me."

Nova's eyes rose, a spark of defiance still burning in their depths. "You don't understand, Lemuel," she said. "You don't know what's at stake."

Lemuel's laughter was a cold, hard thing. "I don't know what's at stake? You're the one who's been keeping secrets, Nova. You're the one who's been lying to me."

The air seemed to crackle with tension as the two former friends locked eyes, the silence between them thick with unspoken words. And then, without warning, Nova turned and ran, disappearing into the darkness of the forest.

Lemuel stood there for a long moment, his anger and hurt simmering just below the surface. He knew that he had to get to the bottom of things, to uncover the truth behind Nova's betrayal. But as he turned to follow her, he felt a creeping sense of unease. He was no longer sure if he was following a friend, or a foe.

And as he plunged into the darkness of the forest, Lemuel couldn't shake the feeling that he was stepping into a trap, one that would change the course of his life forever.
