第66章 "Deceit's Edge"

星际猎人

**The 66th Chapter: The Breach**

Lemuel's words still hung in the air, like a challenge, as Nova's eyes flashed with a mixture of anger and hurt. She took a step back, her hand instinctively reaching for the hilt of her sword. "You're a liar, Lemuel?" she spat out, her voice low and venomous. "You've been manipulating me from the very beginning?"

Lemuel's expression remained calm, but a hint of a smile played on his lips. "Ah, Nova, you're so quick to judge. I'm just trying to keep you safe." He chuckled, the sound sending a shiver down Nova's spine.

Safe? Nova's mind reeled as she thought back to all the events leading up to this moment. The lost crew members, the strange occurrences on the planet, the mysterious messages... It all seemed so connected, yet Lemuel was painting it as a simple lie.

"I don't believe you," Nova said, her hand tightening around the hilt of her sword. "I don't believe any of it."

Lemuel's smile grew wider, and he took a step closer to Nova. "Ah, Nova, you're so precious. You have so much potential, but your lack of trust is going to be your downfall."

Nova's anger boiled over, and she slammed her sword into the console, sending sparks flying everywhere. Lemuel's eyes widened in surprise, but he didn't back down. Instead, he took another step closer, his eyes burning with an intensity that made Nova's skin crawl.

"You're going to regret this, Lemuel," she snarled, her sword trembling with rage.

But Lemuel just laughed, a cold, mirthless sound. "You're just a pawn in a much larger game, Nova. And pawns are meant to be sacrificed."

With that, he reached out and touched a control on the console, and the ship began to shake and rumble. Nova stumbled back, her sword flying from her hand, and Lemuel's smile grew wider.

"You're trapped, Nova," he said, his voice dripping with malice. "And there's no escape."

The ship lurched violently, throwing Nova off balance, and she stumbled towards the console, desperate to regain control. But it was too late. The ship was already breaching at an alarming rate, and the pressure was building.

Nova's mind raced as she struggled to come up with a plan. She had to get out of here, had to stop Lemuel before it was too late. But as she looked around, she realized that they were drifting into the heart of a nearby star system.

And Lemuel was nowhere to be found.

"Where's Lemuel?" Nova shouted, her voice lost in the howling wind.

But there was no answer.

The ship was on a collision course with a small planet, and Nova was running out of time. She had to act fast, or risk being trapped forever in this deadly web of deceit.

And as the ship hurtled towards the planet, Nova's mind was racing with one question: Would she be able to escape, or would she be forever trapped in this abyss of lies and betrayal?
