**第17章:权力游戏**

萧远的眉头皱起,诺瓦的信息让他感到不安。他Presented himself and asked, "What's going on? Why do you think the secretary is hiding something?"

诺瓦's expression turned serious, "I saw the secretary leaving a meeting with a group of high-ranking officials from the New Earth Union. They were whispering among themselves, and I could sense the tension in the air. I think they're planning something big, and the secretary is involved."

萧远's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with possibilities. He knew that the secretary, Ms. Rachel, was a powerful figure in the New Earth Union, and her connections were vast. If she was involved in something shady, it could have far-reaching consequences.

He turned to Norva, his voice low and urgent. "We need to find out what's going on. Can you hack into the secretary's database and see if you can dig up any information?"

Norva nodded, her fingers flying across the console as she accessed the database. After a few minutes, she looked up, her eyes wide with surprise.

"What is it?" Lem asked, his instincts on high alert.

"I found a file labeled 'Operation: Aurora'," Norva said, her voice trembling. "It seems to be a top-secret project, but the details are classified. But... I think I found a clue."

Lem leaned in, his eyes fixed on the screen. "What is it?"

Norva hesitated, then clicked on the file. A video played, showing a group of scientists in a lab, surrounded by strange equipment. Lem's eyes widened as he recognized the equipment – it was the same technology used to create the portal to the unknown regions.

"The scientists are talking about a new portal," Norva said, her voice barely above a whisper. "One that will allow them to travel to the unknown regions and explore the mysteries of the universe."

Lem's mind reeled as he processed the information. This was massive – if the New Earth Union was planning to create a new portal, it could change the course of human history. And if the secretary was involved, it could mean that she was hiding something huge.

As he pondered the implications, Lem knew that he had to act fast. He couldn't let the New Earth Union do something that could put the entire galaxy at risk.

"Norva, we need to get to the bottom of this," Lem said, his voice firm. "Find out what Operation: Aurora is really about, and what the secretary is hiding. We can't let them get away with this."

Norva nodded, her eyes flashing with determination. "I'm on it, Lem. But be careful – we don't know what we're up against."

Lem nodded, his mind racing with possibilities. He knew that this was just the beginning – and that the fate of the galaxy hung in the balance.

As he turned to leave, he couldn't shake the feeling that he was being watched. He glanced around, but saw nothing out of the ordinary. Still, the sensation lingered, making the hairs on the back of his neck stand on end.

And then, just as he was about to disappear into the shadows, a voice whispered in his ear – "Lem, you're playing with fire. You don't know what you're up against."

Lem spun around, but there was no one there. He scanned the area, but saw nothing. The voice seemed to come from nowhere and everywhere at the same time.

"Who's there?" Lem demanded, his eyes scanning the darkness.

The voice laughed, a low, menacing sound. "You'll find out soon enough, Lem. But for now, just remember – you're not the only one playing the game."

With that, the voice disappeared, leaving Lem with more questions than answers. What did it mean? And who was behind the sinister message?

Lem's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with possibilities. He knew that he had to be careful – the stakes were higher than ever before. But he also knew that he couldn't back down. He had to uncover the truth, no matter what it took.

And so, with a fierce determination burning in his heart, Lem set out to unravel the mystery of Operation: Aurora, and the secrets that lay within.
