**90. Web of Deceit: The Web Unravels (Continued)**

Lin Chao's patience finally snapped. He slammed his fist on the table, making Old Ghost jump in his seat. "You're not telling me the truth, are you?" Lin Chao demanded, his eyes blazing with anger.

Old Ghost's eyes darted around the room, as if searching for an escape route. For a moment, Lin Chao thought he saw a glimmer of fear in the old man's eyes, but it was quickly replaced by a calculating glint. "What are you talking about, Lin Chao?" Old Ghost asked, his voice dripping with innocence.

Lin Chao's grip on his sword handle tightened. He knew that Old Ghost was hiding something, and he was determined to find out what it was. "Don't play dumb with me, Old Ghost," he growled. "I know you're involved with the Silent Order. Tell me what you know."

Old Ghost's expression turned cold, his eyes glinting with a mixture of anger and amusement. "You're really something, Lin Chao," he sneered. "You think you're so smart, but you're just a pawn in a much larger game."

Lin Chao's face darkened with rage. He took a step closer to Old Ghost, his sword hand trembling with restraint. "I'll crush you like the insect you are," he hissed.

But before Lin Chao could strike, a commotion erupted outside the room. The sound of shattering glass and scuffling footsteps filled the air. Old Ghost's eyes flicked towards the door, and Lin Chao's gaze followed.

Without a word, Lin Chao drew his sword and rushed towards the door, Old Ghost hot on his heels. They burst into the hallway, where they found a group of players from the Silent Order, led by none other than their leader, the enigmatic Shadow.

"Ah, Lin Chao," Shadow said, her voice dripping with venom. "I've been waiting for you. You're quite the clever little boy, aren't you?"

Lin Chao's eyes narrowed. He knew that Shadow was a formidable opponent, but he was determined to take her down. "You're not going to get away with this," he snarled, charging towards Shadow.

But as he approached, Lin Chao realized that something was off. The players from the Silent Order seemed...different. Their eyes seemed... glazed.

And then, Lin Chao saw it. The faint glow of nanobots, coursing through their veins. They were being controlled, manipulated by some outside force.

Lin Chao's blood ran cold. He knew that he had stumbled into something much bigger than he had ever imagined. And he knew that he had to get out of there, fast.

But as he turned to run, Lin Chao felt a hand on his shoulder, spinning him back around. Shadow's eyes glinted with malice as she whispered, "You're not going anywhere, Lin Chao. You're going to tell me everything I want to know."

And with that, the world went dark.
