第162章 " Reality's Edge of Fury"

网游之天下无双

**162. The Silent Confrontation**

The air in the tavern seemed to thicken, as if the very fabric of reality was being stretched to its limits. Old Ghost's face was a deep shade of red, his eyes blazing with a fury that could melt steel. Lin Chao, however, remained calm and collected, his eyes fixed on the old man with an unyielding intensity.

"You're a fool, Lin Chao," Old Ghost spat, his voice low and menacing. "You think you can stand against me? I am the one who brought you to this world, who gave you the power and the knowledge to become the great player you are today."

Lin Chao's expression remained unchanged, but his voice was like ice. "You may have given me the power, Old Ghost, but it is not yours to take away. I am the one who has honed it, who has crafted it into a force that cannot be defeated."

The tavern patrons watched in awe, their eyes darting back and forth between the two combatants. They had never seen Old Ghost so enraged, nor Lin Chao so calm and collected. It was as if they were two opposing forces, each one determined to emerge victorious.

Old Ghost's anger seemed to grow with each passing moment, his face reddening even further. Lin Chao, however, remained steadfast, his eyes never leaving the old man's face.

"You are a pawn, Lin Chao," Old Ghost sneered. "A pawn in a game that is far larger than you can even comprehend. And you will be sacrificed, like all the others, when the time comes."

Lin Chao's expression remained unchanged, but his voice was like a knife. "I am not a pawn, Old Ghost. I am a player. And I will not be sacrificed."

The words hung in the air, heavy with meaning. The tavern patrons watched in silence, their eyes fixed on the two combatants. They knew that the stakes were high, that the outcome of this confrontation would determine the fate of the entire world.

And then, without warning, Old Ghost's face contorted in a mixture of rage and pain. He doubled over, his hands clutching at his stomach as if he had been struck by a deadly blow.

Lin Chao's eyes never left his face, his expression unchanged. "You should have stayed hidden, Old Ghost," he said, his voice cold and detached. "You should have stayed silent."

The tavern patrons watched in stunned silence as Old Ghost stumbled out of the tavern, his face pale and his eyes bloodshot. Lin Chao watched him go, his eyes never leaving the old man's back.

And then, without another word, he turned and walked out of the tavern, leaving the patrons to wonder what had just happened.

As he walked away, Lin Chao could feel the weight of the world on his shoulders. He knew that he had just challenged the very fabric of reality, that he had struck a blow that could have far-reaching consequences.

But he also knew that he had no choice. He had to be prepared to face whatever lay ahead, to confront the darkness that lurked in every corner of the world.

And so he walked on, his eyes fixed on the horizon, his heart pounding in his chest.

For he knew that the real battle was only just beginning.
