铁血战王
**95章:「权力的游戏,权力之战—背水一战」(The Game of Power, Battle for Power—Last Stand)**
As the silence in the room stretched on, Lin Hao couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. He knew that Captain Zhang was waiting for him to make a decision, but he was torn. On one hand, he knew that he had to prove himself as a capable commander, but on the other hand, he was still unsure if he was ready for the task.
"Captain, I understand your concerns," Lin Hao said slowly, his voice echoing through the room. "But I'm not sure if I'm ready for this mission. I'm still new to this unit and I don't want to put anyone in danger because of my inexperience."
Captain Zhang's expression didn't change, but Lin Hao could sense a hint of disappointment in his voice. "Lin Hao, you're not just talking about your own abilities. You're talking about the lives of your men. Are you willing to put their lives at risk because of your own doubts?"
Lin Hao felt a surge of determination rise up within him. He knew that he couldn't let his doubts hold him back. "No, Captain. I'm not willing to do that. But I do want to ask for your support. I need more information about the mission and the enemy we're facing. I need to know what I'm up against before I make any decisions."
Captain Zhang's expression softened slightly, and he nodded. "Very well, Lin Hao. I'll give you the information you need. But remember, time is of the essence. We can't afford to wait any longer."
As Captain Zhang began to brief him on the mission, Lin Hao couldn't help but feel a sense of trepidation. He knew that he was taking a huge risk, but he was determined to see it through.
But just as he was about to leave the room to start his mission, he was stopped by a knock at the door. It was one of his men, a young soldier named Wang who looked panicked.
"Captain, I'm sorry to bother you, but we've received a message from HQ. The enemy has changed their plans. They're launching a surprise attack on our base in an hour."
Lin Hao's eyes widened in shock. An hour? That was an incredibly short amount of time to prepare for an attack. He knew that he had to act fast if they were going to have any chance of defending their base.
"Get me my men," Lin Hao ordered Wang. "We need to get to our positions asap. And tell Captain Zhang to get the rest of the unit ready to move out. We're going to defend our base with everything we've got."
As Wang hurried off to gather the men, Lin Hao knew that he was in for the fight of his life. He was determined to protect his base and his men, no matter what it took.
But as he looked out the window, he couldn't help but feel a sense of doubt creeping in. Were they really ready for this? Was he really ready for this? The clock was ticking, and Lin Hao knew that he had to make a decision fast.
