第76章 第76章

铁血战王

**76章:「权力之争」 (Contest of Military Authority)**

Captain Zhang's face was still red, but his voice was calm as he continued, "You may have completed your training, Lin Hao, but you're not qualified to lead a team, let alone a platoon. You're still a rookie, and you don't understand the weight of responsibility."

Lin Hao's eyes narrowed, his jaw clenched. He knew Captain Zhang was trying to provoke him, but he refused to back down. "Respect, Captain," he said, his voice firm. "I understand that I'm still a rookie, but I've earned the right to prove myself. I've shown my skills in training, and I've demonstrated my ability to work well under pressure."

Captain Zhang snorted. "Pressure? You think a little simulation exercise is pressure? You have no idea what real combat is like, Lin Hao. You have no idea what it's like to be responsible for the lives of your teammates."

Lin Hao's eyes flashed with anger, but he kept his tone even. "I may not have seen combat, Captain, but I've seen what happens when a team is led by someone who doesn't know what they're doing. I've seen the consequences of poor leadership. And I'm willing to do whatever it takes to prove that I'm better than that."

The room was silent again, the tension between the two men palpable. Captain Zhang's face was still red, but he seemed to be considering Lin Hao's words. Finally, he spoke. "Very well, Lin Hao. I'll give you a chance to prove yourself. But if you fail, you'll be out of this unit, and you'll never set foot on a battlefield again."

Lin Hao nodded, a small smile playing on his lips. "Thank you, Captain. I won't fail you."

As the two men left the room, Lin Hao could feel the weight of the challenge ahead. He knew that he had to prove himself, not just to Captain Zhang, but to himself. He was determined to succeed, no matter what it took.

But little did he know, the real challenge was only just beginning. As they walked out of the room, a messenger boy approached them, his face pale. "Captain Zhang, Sir," he said, his voice trembling. "We've received a distress signal from a nearby village. It seems that a group of bandits has attacked, and the villagers are in danger."

Captain Zhang's face turned serious, and he looked at Lin Hao. "What do you say, Lin Hao? Are you ready to face your first real challenge?"

Lin Hao nodded, his heart racing. "Yes, Captain. Let's go."

As they rushed out of the room, the sound of gunfire and screams echoed through the air, and Lin Hao knew that his journey as a soldier had only just begun. And he had no idea what lay ahead, or what challenges he would face. But he was ready to face whatever came his way, with courage, honor, and a rifle by his side.

To be continued...
