第49章 "Deadly Silence"
铁血战王
**第49章:** **突袭**
"Get ready, team!" Zhao Jium's voice was low and urgent as he signaled his teammates to prepare for a potential ambush. Lin Hao's eyes were fixed on the figure in the doorway, his hand resting on the grip of his gun.
The man in the black uniform didn't seem to notice them, his attention focused on something else. Zhao Jium's instincts told him that this was no ordinary operative. He could sense the man's training, his experience, and his deadliness.
Without a word, Zhao Jium gave a hand signal, and his teammates fanned out, taking up positions around the room. Lin Hao moved to cover the door, his eyes scanning the corridor beyond.
The man in the black uniform took a step forward, his eyes flicking towards Zhao Jium. For a moment, they locked gazes, and Zhao Jium felt a shiver run down his spine. This was a man who didn't bluff, who didn't hesitate. He was a killer.
"Who are you?" Zhao Jium asked, his voice firm and commanding. The man didn't respond, his eyes never leaving Zhao Jium's face.
Without warning, the man lunged forward, his hand flashing with a knife. Zhao Jium drew his gun, but the man was too fast, too agile. He dodged the gunfire and closed in, his knife slicing through the air.
Lin Hao reacted quickly, taking down the man with a well-placed shot. But as they approached the body, they saw something that made their blood run cold. A small device was attached to the man's wrist, a device that looked suspiciously like a suicide bomb.
"Shit," Lin Hao muttered, his eyes wide with fear. "He was a decoy."
Zhao Jium's face tightened, his mind racing. This was a trap, and they had just walked right into it. The device was counting down, and they had mere seconds to escape.
"Move, move, move!" Zhao Jium yelled, grabbing Lin Hao's arm and pulling him towards the door. They burst out into the corridor, the sound of the bomb's countdown echoing behind them.
As they ran, Zhao Jium could feel the anxiety building in his chest. They had to get out of there, fast. The device would detonate in seconds, and they would all be blown to kingdom come.
But just as they thought they were clear, a burst of gunfire ripped through the air, and Zhao Jium felt a searing pain in his side. He stumbled, falling to the ground, as Lin Hao's panicked voice echoed in his ear.
"Zhao Jium! No, no, no! Come on, come on!"
And then, everything went black.
