第145章 "Devil's Pact, Bitter Price"

天龙傲世

**Chapter 145: The Betrayal**

The devil's bargain was sealed, and Xie Yuan's eyes seemed to gleam with a newfound purpose. Lin Wan'er, however, looked like she had just swallowed a bitter pill. She couldn't believe she was agreeing to such a treacherous alliance.

"Are you certain this is what you want, Lin Wan'er?" Xie Yuan asked, his voice low and menacing.

Lin Wan'er's gaze faltered, and she looked away, her voice barely above a whisper. "I have no choice, Xie Yuan. The Celestial Master's armies are closing in on us, and I must do everything in my power to protect my people."

Xie Yuan's face twisted into a cruel smile. "Ah, yes. The Celestial Master's armies. I've heard they're relentless, almost... demonic."

Lin Wan'er's eyes snapped back to his, a glimmer of fear flickering within their depths. "You're not going to betray me, are you?"

Xie Yuan chuckled, the sound sending shivers down Lin Wan'er's spine. "Betray you? Oh, no. I'm just getting started. You see, I have a score to settle with the Celestial Master, and you're just the pawn I need to get to him."

Lin Wan'er's face turned white, her eyes wide with horror. "Xie Yuan, what are you saying?"

Xie Yuan's smile grew wider, his eyes gleaming with malevolent intent. "I'm saying that we're going to take down the Celestial Master together, Lin Wan'er. And when we do, I'll make sure you're by my side, every step of the way."

The silence that followed was oppressive, the air thick with tension and betrayal. Lin Wan'er knew she had made a terrible mistake, and that Xie Yuan's words were just a thinly veiled promise of doom.

Just as she was about to turn and run, Xie Yuan's hand shot out, his fingers closing around her wrist like a vice. "Don't even think about it, Lin Wan'er. You're mine now, body and soul."

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting the world in a fiery glow, Lin Wan'er knew she was trapped in a nightmare from which she might never awaken. And Xie Yuan, with his devilish grin and cold, calculating eyes, was the one holding the reins.

But little did they know, a new player had entered the game, one who would change the course of their lives forever. As the shadows closed in, the sound of whispers in the wind grew louder, echoing through the valleys and hills like a chorus of the damned.

What secrets lay hidden in the darkness, waiting to be uncovered? Only time would tell. But one thing was certain - the game was far from over, and the stakes were higher than ever before.

To be continued...
