第68章 "Blood-Stained Redemption"
太古神王
**Chapter 68: The Price of Loyalty**
Qin Wentian's gaze remained fixed on Chu Ling'er, his anger still burning like a firestorm. Chu Ling'er's calm demeanor only fueled his rage, and he knew he had to make a decision, and fast.
"You're right, I am a monster," Chu Ling'er said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "But I'm not the only one. You, Qin Wentian, are no saint either."
Qin Wentian's eyes flashed with anger, but he knew Chu Ling'er was right. He had done things he wasn't proud of, things that had tarnished his soul. But he had always justified them as necessary, as a means to an end.
"So what's your point, Chu Ling'er?" Qin Wentian growled, his patience wearing thin.
"My point is that we're both monsters, and we both know it," Chu Ling'er replied, her eyes glinting with a hint of mischief. "But I'll tell you this, Qin Wentian: I'm willing to make a deal with you. A deal that will benefit us both."
Qin Wentian's instincts screamed at him to be cautious, but his curiosity got the better of him. "What kind of deal?" he asked, his voice heavy with skepticism.
Chu Ling'er smiled, and for a moment, Qin Wentian saw a glimmer of the real her, the one behind the mask. "I'll help you achieve your goals, Qin Wentian. I'll help you become the strongest cultivator in the world. But in return, you have to promise me one thing."
Qin Wentian raised an eyebrow. "What's that?"
Chu Ling'er's smile grew wider. "You have to kill someone for me."
Qin Wentian's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with possibilities. He knew that Chu Ling'er was a master manipulator, and he was probably setting him up for something. But he also knew that he needed her help, and that she had the power to make or break his plans.
He made his decision, and with a cold, calculating gaze, he nodded. "I'll do it," he said, his voice devoid of emotion.
Chu Ling'er's smile faltered for a moment, and Qin Wentian saw a flicker of surprise in her eyes. But then, her expression smoothed out, and she nodded. "Good," she said. "I'll tell you who to kill, and when to do it. And in return, I'll give you the power you need to surpass even the gods."
Qin Wentian's instincts screamed at him to get out, to run as fast as he could, but his ambition held him back. He knew that he was making a deal with a monster, but he was willing to take that risk if it meant achieving his goals.
And so, with a sense of foreboding, Qin Wentian nodded once more, sealing his fate. Little did he know, he was stepping into a world of darkness, where the line between good and evil was blurred, and the price of loyalty was his soul.
As the deal was made, the air seemed to grow heavier, the shadows deepening around them. Qin Wentian's eyes locked onto Chu Ling'er's, and he knew that he had just made a pact with the devil herself. But he was willing to risk it all to become the strongest cultivator in the world.
And so, with a sense of fate, he turned to leave, ready to face whatever lay ahead. But as he walked away, he felt a faint whisper in his ear, a whisper that sent shivers down his spine: "You've made a deal with a monster, Qin Wentian. Now, you'll have to pay the price."
