太古神王

**Chapter 30: The Web of Deceit**

Chu Ling'er's eyes flickered, and for a moment, Qin Wentian seemed to sense that she was on the verge of cracking. But she quickly regained her composure, a faint smile playing on her lips. "I'm hiding nothing from you," she said, her voice sweet and innocent.

Qin Wentian's gaze narrowed. He could sense that she was lying, but he couldn't quite put his finger on what it was. "Don't play dumb with me, Chu Ling'er," he warned, his voice cold and detached. "I can see right through your little act."

Chu Ling'er's smile grew wider, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "Oh, Qin Wentian, you're so clever," she cooed. "But you're also so naive. You really think you can read me like an open book?"

Qin Wentian's face darkened. "What's going on here?" he demanded, his voice rising in anger. "What are you hiding from me?"

Chu Ling'er's laughter was like silk, smooth and deadly. "I'm hiding nothing, Qin Wentian," she repeated. "But perhaps... perhaps you should be the one hiding something from me."

Qin Wentian's eyes snapped with anger. "What do you mean?" he growled, his fists clenched.

Chu Ling'er's smile never wavered. "I mean that I've discovered something about your past, Qin Wentian," she said, her voice dripping with malice. "Something that could change everything."

Qin Wentian's face went white with shock. "What are you talking about?" he stammered.

Chu Ling'er's eyes glinted with triumph. "Let's just say that I've found a little... memento from your past," she said, her voice dripping with venom. "Something that could ruin everything you've worked so hard to build."

Qin Wentian's eyes flashed with fury. "You're lying," he spat. "There's no way you could know anything about my past."

Chu Ling'er's laughter was like a dagger plunged into Qin Wentian's heart. "Oh, but I do know," she said, her voice cold and calculating. "And I'm not afraid to use it."

As the two of them glared at each other, the air seemed to vibrate with tension. Qin Wentian's eyes burned with a fierce determination, while Chu Ling'er's sparkled with malice. The web of deceit was unraveling, and only one of them would emerge victorious.

And as the darkness closed in around them, Qin Wentian knew that he had to make a choice: trust his instincts and risk everything, or doubt himself and risk losing everything that mattered. The choice was his, but the consequences would be far-reaching...
