第75章 "Shadows of Glory"

篮球大帝

**Chapter 75: The Call of the Past**

Lin Feng trudged off the court, his head hung low in shame. He couldn't believe how far he'd fallen. The once-dynamic and confident player was now a mere shadow of his former self. The cracks in his facade were starting to show, and he knew it.

As he changed into his street clothes, his teammate, Wang Wei, approached him with a concerned expression. "Hey, Lin Feng, what's going on with you? You're not the same player you used to be. What's eating at you?"

Lin Feng snorted, trying to brush off the question. "Just a slump, that's all. I'll get back to my old self soon." But Wang Wei's gaze pierced right through his facade.

You're not fooling anyone, Lin Feng. We all know you're struggling.

Lin Feng's eyes flashed with annoyance, but Wang Wei continued, "Listen, Lin Feng, I know you're better than this. You're the best player on our team, and you always have been. But if you don't snap out of it, you're going to lose your edge. And I don't just mean your skills. Your confidence is shot. You're not even believing in yourself anymore."

Lin Feng's face twisted in a mixture of anger and frustration. How dare Wang Wei say such things to him? Didn't he know who he was talking to? Lin Feng was the top player in the league, the one everyone looked up to.

But Wang Wei just stood there, unflinching, his eyes boring into Lin Feng's very soul. And for a moment, Lin Feng saw himself through Wang Wei's eyes – a struggling, unsure, and defeated player.

The weight of those words hit him like a punch to the gut. He felt a crack spreading across his facade, revealing the doubts and fears that had been eating away at him.

As he looked at Wang Wei, he saw a glimmer of understanding in his teammate's eyes. It was as if Wang Wei was saying, "I know what's going on, Lin Feng. I know you're struggling. But it's okay to admit it. It's okay to ask for help."

And in that moment, Lin Feng felt a spark of hope ignite within him. Maybe, just maybe, he didn't have to face this alone. Maybe having someone to lean on could help him regain his confidence and his edge.

But as he turned to leave, he heard Wang Wei's words echoing in his mind – "You're not even believing in yourself anymore." The doubt crept back in, and he felt the cracks in his facade spreading wider.

As he walked away from the locker room, he couldn't shake the feeling that his past was calling him, urging him to remember the fire that once burned within him. And he knew that if he didn't answer, he would lose himself forever.

What will Lin Feng do next? Will he find a way to overcome his doubts and fears, or will he succumb to the cracks in his facade? The fate of his basketball career hangs in the balance.
