**Chapter 47: The Confrontation of Fate**

Jaxon's anger had reached a boiling point, and he couldn't wait to confront Lin Feng about his betrayal. As he stormed into his apartment, he could feel his heart racing with anticipation. He had been planning this moment for what felt like an eternity, and finally, he was ready to lay his cards on the table.

He snatched up his phone and dialed Lin Feng's number, his finger hovering over the call button as he steeled himself for the inevitable confrontation.

"Hey, man, it's been a while," Lin Feng's voice was smooth as silk, but Jaxon could detect a hint of wariness beneath the surface.

"Don't play dumb, Lin Feng," Jaxon's voice was low and menacing. "I know what you did. You think you can just betray me like that and get away with it?"

There was a pause on the other end of the line, and for a moment, Jaxon thought he had lost the connection. But then, Lin Feng's voice came back, calm and collected.

"Jaxon, I don't know what you're talking about. You're not making any sense."

Jaxon's anger surged, and he slammed his fist onto the counter, making the phone jump out of his hand.

"You're lying, Lin Feng! You know exactly what I'm talking about. You think you can just use me and then discard me like trash?"

Lin Feng's voice remained calm, but Jaxon could sense a hint of frustration creeping in.

"Jaxon, stop this. You're not thinking clearly. I did what I had to do. You were holding me back, and I had to find a way to move forward."

Jaxon's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with the implications of Lin Feng's words.

"Holding you back? You think I was holding you back? You're the one who's been holding me back, Lin Feng. You're the one who's been holding me back for years."

Lin Feng's voice dropped to a whisper, and for a moment, Jaxon thought he had lost the connection again.

"Jaxon, stop this. You're not thinking clearly. You're just angry and hurt. But I'm telling you, this is over. We're done."

The line went dead, and Jaxon was left standing there, his anger and frustration boiling over like a cauldron. He knew he had to confront Lin Feng face-to-face, to make him understand the gravity of his betrayal.

But as he turned to leave, he saw something that made his heart stop.

Lin Feng was standing in the doorway, a smug smile spreading across his face.

"You're not going anywhere, Jaxon," Lin Feng said, his voice dripping with malice. "You're going to stay right where you are, and we're going to have a little chat."

Jaxon's eyes locked onto Lin Feng's, and for a moment, the world seemed to come to a standstill. The air was thick with tension, the only sound the heavy breathing of two men consumed by their own rage and hurt.

And then, in a flash of movement, Lin Feng disappeared into the night, leaving Jaxon standing alone in the darkness.

But Jaxon knew he wouldn't be alone for long. He could feel it, a sense of fate closing in around him, drawing him inexorably towards a confrontation that would change everything.
