**Chapter 45: The Fury of Revenge**
Jaxon's anger was still simmering like a pot about to boil over as he drove back to his apartment, his mind consumed by thoughts of Lin Feng's betrayal. He couldn't believe that the person he trusted most had played him so cruelly. The memories of their conversations, of the laughter and the shared victories, now seemed like a distant dream, a cruel joke.
As he pulled into his parking lot, he noticed a strange car parked in his usual spot. It was a black sedan with tinted windows, and it looked out of place among the other cars. Jaxon's instincts told him that something was off.
He got out of his car and approached the sedan, his eyes scanning the surrounding area. Suddenly, the door opened, and a figure emerged from the shadows. It was Lin Feng, his face pale and anxious.
"What do you want, Lin?" Jaxon's voice was low and menacing.
"I...I wanted to talk to you," Lin Feng stammered, his eyes darting around nervously. "I know I made a mistake, Jaxon. I know I hurt you. But I'm willing to do anything to make it right."
Jaxon's laughter was cold and calculated. "You think a simple apology can fix everything? You think you can just waltz back into my life after what you did?"
Lin Feng's face fell, and he took a step back. "I know I don't deserve it, but please, Jaxon, hear me out. I have a plan to prove myself to you, to regain your trust."
Jaxon's eyes narrowed. "What kind of plan?"
Lin Feng hesitated before speaking. "I can get us into the CBA finals. I can lead our team to victory, and then we can discuss the future."
Jaxon's expression was skeptical, but a part of him was intrigued. He had always been driven to succeed, and the idea of winning the CBA finals was tantalizing.
"Tell me more," Jaxon said, his voice dripping with skepticism.
Lin Feng's eyes lit up with determination. "I have a strategy, Jaxon. A plan that will crush our opponents and bring us the championship. And once we win, we can talk about our future. We can discuss whether or not I'm worthy of your trust."
Jaxon's mind was racing with the possibilities. He knew that Lin Feng was a talented player, and the idea of winning the CBA finals was too enticing to ignore.
But as he looked into Lin Feng's eyes, he saw something there that chilled him to the bone. A calculating glint, a hint of manipulation. Jaxon knew that he had to be careful, that he couldn't let his emotions cloud his judgment.
"Very well," Jaxon said, his voice cold and detached. "I'll listen to your plan. But don't think for a second that I'll forgive you easily. I'll be watching you, Lin. And if you betray me again, there will be consequences."
Lin Feng's face fell, but he nodded eagerly. "I understand, Jaxon. I won't let you down."
As they walked towards the apartment, Jaxon couldn't shake off the feeling that he was walking into a trap. But he was determined to uncover the truth, to see if Lin Feng was telling the truth or if he was just playing him once again.
The fate of their friendship, and their basketball careers, hung in the balance.
