剑道独尊

**Chapter 29: The Echoes of Betrayal**

Chen Yang's eyes remained fixed on the girl, his intense gaze like a sharp blade cutting through the air. She swallowed hard, her Adam's apple bobbing up and down as she struggled to maintain her composure.

"I...I didn't want to keep it from you," she stammered, her voice trembling. "But I was forbidden to speak of it. The others would have killed me if they found out."

Chen Yang's expression remained inscrutable, but his voice took on a hint of steel. "Forbidden by whom?"

The girl's eyes darted around the room once more, as if searching for an escape route. "The Sword Master," she whispered, her voice barely audible.

Chen Yang's eyes narrowed. "Sword Master? You mean the leader of the Sword Sect?"

The girl nodded, her eyes brimming with tears. "Yes. He's been hiding something from us, something terrible. And I think it's connected to my father's death."

Chen Yang's grip on his sword handle tightened. "Tell me more," he growled, his patience wearing thin.

The girl took a deep breath, her words spilling out like a dam breaking. "My father was a powerful swordsman, one of the strongest in the sect. But he was...different. He saw things that others didn't, heard things that no one else could. The Sword Master was afraid of him, afraid of what he might discover."

"And what did he discover?" Chen Yang prompted, his voice low and menacing.

The girl's eyes locked onto his, a flicker of fear dancing across her face. "He discovered the truth about the Sword Sect's past. About the secrets they've been hiding for so long."

Chen Yang's eyes flashed with anger. "What secrets?"

The girl's voice dropped to a whisper. "The secrets of the sword...the secrets of the heart."

As the girl finished speaking, the room seemed to grow darker, as if the shadows themselves were closing in. Chen Yang's eyes never left hers, his gaze boring deeper into her soul.

And then, without warning, the girl vanished.

Chen Yang spun around, his sword at the ready, but there was no one there. The room was empty, except for the faint whisper of her words echoing through his mind.

"The secrets of the sword...the secrets of the heart."

Chen Yang's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with the implications. He knew that he had to get to the bottom of this, no matter the cost. But as he turned to leave, he felt a cold dread creeping up his spine.

He was being watched.

And in that moment, Chen Yang knew that he was walking into a trap, one that would change the course of his life forever.
