剑道独尊

**Chapter 24: The Web of Lies**

Chen Yang's eyes bore into the girl's, his gaze piercing like a sharp blade. "You're hiding something," he stated, his voice low and even. "What is it?"

The girl's expression remained calm, but a hint of fear flickered in her eyes. "I haven't hidden anything, Chen Yang," she replied, her voice sweet as honey. "Why would I?"

Chen Yang's eyes narrowed. He knew she was lying, but he couldn't quite put his finger on what. "Don't play dumb, Ling," he said, his tone growing colder. "I know you're hiding something. What is it?"

Ling's eyes darted around the room, as if searching for an escape route. "Chen Yang, please," she said, her voice trembling. "I'm telling you the truth. I don't know what you're talking about."

Chen Yang's grip on his sword tightened. His instincts screamed that Ling was hiding something, and he was determined to uncover the truth. "Fine," he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "Let's play a game. If you're telling the truth, then I'll believe you. But if you're lying...then we'll have a problem."

Ling's eyes snapped back to his, a glimmer of desperation flashing across her face. "What do you want me to do?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Chen Yang's smile was cold and calculating. "I want you to take me to the Master," he said. "I want to know what's going on in this place. And I want to know now."

Ling's eyes locked onto his, a silent understanding passing between them. Chen Yang knew she was thinking the same thing: she was trapped, and he was her only hope. "Alright," she said finally, her voice resigned. "I'll take you to the Master. But you have to promise me one thing."

Chen Yang raised an eyebrow. "What's that?"

Ling's gaze was pleading. "You have to promise me you'll listen. And you have to promise me you'll believe me, no matter what I tell you."

Chen Yang's smile grew wider, his eyes glinting with a cold light. "I promise," he said, his voice dripping with malice. "I'll listen. And I'll believe you. Until the truth comes out, that is."

As they left the room, Chen Yang couldn't shake the feeling that he was walking into a trap. But he was determined to uncover the truth behind the whispers in the dark. And he was willing to do whatever it took to get it.

Little did he know, the truth was closer than he thought. And it would change everything.
