**149章: Swordsmen's Dilemma**
Lin Feng's anger began to dissipate, replaced by a mix of surprise and curiosity. "What do you mean?" he asked, his voice still tinged with anger.
Chenyang's expression remained calm and collected. "I mean that swordsmen are not just warriors who wield swords for personal gain or desires. They are guardians of peace, protectors of lives and safety."
Lin Feng's eyes widened in surprise. "You're saying that swordsmen are supposed to sacrifice their own interests for the greater good?"
Chenyang nodded. "Exactly. The code of conduct for swordsmen is not just about winning or losing, it's about upholding justice and morality. And that's what I'm trying to teach you, Lin Feng."
Lin Feng's anger was slowly replaced by a sense of unease. He had always thought of himself as a warrior, a swordsman who fought for his own interests and desires. But Chenyang's words made him question his own motivations.
Just then, a knock at the door interrupted their conversation. It was Chenyang's apprentice, a young man named Xiao Qi.
"Master, I've brought the information you requested," Xiao Qi said, handing Chenyang a scroll.
Chenyang took the scroll and unrolled it, scanning the contents quickly. His expression turned grave.
"What is it?" Lin Feng asked, sensing the sudden change in atmosphere.
"It seems that the Swordsmen's Guild has received a message from an unknown sender," Chenyang said, his voice low and urgent. "The sender claims to have evidence of Lin Feng's involvement in the recent string of assassinations."
Lin Feng's heart skipped a beat. "What?! That's impossible! I didn't do it!"
Chenyang's expression was grim. "The Guild is demanding that you come forward to clear your name. But I suspect that there's more to this than just a simple misunderstanding."
Lin Feng's anger and frustration boiled over again. "I don't know what's going on, but I know I didn't do it! I'll go to the Guild and clear my name once and for all!"
Chenyang's voice was firm but calm. "Lin Feng, you must think carefully before taking any action. The Guild is not to be trifled with, and you may be walking into a trap."
But Lin Feng was already storming out of the room, determined to clear his name and get to the bottom of the mystery.
As he left, Chenyang turned to Xiao Qi and whispered, "I fear that the future of swordsmanship hangs in the balance. We must move quickly to uncover the truth behind these events."
Xiao Qi's eyes widened in alarm. "Yes, Master. But how do we begin?"
Chenyang's expression was resolute. "We start by following the thread of evidence, no matter where it may lead."
And with that, the two of them set off into the unknown, leaving Lin Feng to face the unknown dangers that lay ahead.
To be continued...
