第80章 "Deadlock of Betrayal"
都市之最强狂兵
**Chapter 80: The Standoff**
The air was electric with tension as the two men stood facing each other, their words hanging in the balance. Shen Yi's calm demeanor had given way to cold calculation, his eyes boring into Xiao Zhan's with an intensity that made the other man's blood run hot.
"You're just like the rest of them, aren't you?" Xiao Zhan spat, his anger and disgust boiling over. "Using me, manipulating me, and then discarding me like trash."
Shen Yi's expression didn't change, but a hint of amusement flickered in his eyes. "You're still so naive, Xiao Zhan. You think the world is black and white, good and evil. But the truth is, it's all just shades of gray. And sometimes, you have to make difficult choices to survive."
Xiao Zhan's face twisted in rage. "Difficult choices? You're talking about betraying our comrades, our friends, and our country? You're talking about sacrificing our trust and our loyalty for your own selfish interests?"
Shen Yi's eyes didn't waver. "I'm talking about doing what it takes to get the job done, Xiao Zhan. And if that means sacrificing a few innocent bystanders along the way, then so be it."
Xiao Zhan's anger reached a fever pitch, and he knew he had to do something to stop Shen Yi before things escalated further. He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself, and spoke in a low, even tone.
"Shen Yi, I'm asking you one more time. Are you with me, or are you against me?"
Shen Yi's expression didn't change, but his eyes seemed to bore deeper into Xiao Zhan's. "I'm not sure, Xiao Zhan," he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "But I do know one thing. If you keep pushing me, I'll make sure you regret it."
The tension between the two men was palpable, and Xiao Zhan knew he had to make a decision. He couldn't keep dancing around the issue, waiting for Shen Yi to make the first move. He had to take control, and he had to do it now.
With a swift motion, Xiao Zhan drew his phone from his pocket and dialed a number. The phone rang twice before a voice answered.
"Hello?"
"It's me," Xiao Zhan said, his voice low and urgent. "We need to talk. Now."
There was a pause, and then the voice on the other end spoke. "I'm on my way. What's going on?"
Xiao Zhan's gaze locked onto Shen Yi's. "Just get here as fast as you can. We have a situation."
The line went dead, and Xiao Zhan turned back to Shen Yi. "I think it's time we took our conversation elsewhere," he said, his voice dripping with menace.
Shen Yi's eyes narrowed. "Where are we going?"
Xiao Zhan's smile was cold and calculating. "You'll see."
And with that, the two men turned and walked away, leaving the tension and uncertainty behind. But the question on everyone's mind was: what would happen next? Would Xiao Zhan be able to take down Shen Yi, or would he fall victim to his former friend's treachery? Only time would tell.
