第122章 "Shadow's Gambit"
都市之最强狂兵
**Chapter 122: The Game of Shadows (Part 13)**
Xiao Zhan's words hung in the air, heavy with menace, as Lin Feng's eyes darted back and forth, searching for a way to escape. The tension between them was palpable, like a live wire waiting to spark.
"You're not listening, are you?" Xiao Zhan's voice rose, the anger simmering beneath the surface. "I'm not just a pawn, Lin Feng. I'm the one playing the game. And you're just a piece on the board, waiting to be sacrificed."
Lin Feng's face twisted in frustration. "You're insane, Xiao Zhan. I'm telling you, I have nothing to do with this."
Xiao Zhan chuckled, the sound low and menacing. "Oh, I'm not insane, Lin Feng. I'm just playing the game. And you're just a pawn, too blinded by your own ego to see the board."
The air was electric with tension, the silence between them thicker than the darkness outside. Lin Feng's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with ways to get out of this situation.
"You're not going to win, Xiao Zhan," Lin Feng spat, his voice low and menacing. "You're going to lose everything. Your power, your respect, everything."
Xiao Zhan's gaze flickered, the intensity in his eyes momentarily faltering. "You think you're the first person to try and take me down, Lin Feng? You think you're the first person to try and destroy my empire?"
The air seemed to vibrate with Xiao Zhan's anger, the words dripping with venom. Lin Feng's eyes widened, the fear creeping up his spine.
"No, you're not the first," Xiao Zhan continued, his voice rising. "And you won't be the last. But you're the first to make the same mistake. You're the first to underestimate me."
The words seemed to hang in the air, the weight of them crushing Lin Feng. Xiao Zhan's gaze never wavered, the intensity in his eyes burning brighter with every passing moment.
And then, in an instant, everything changed.
The lights in the room flickered, the shadows dancing across the walls like dark spirits. Lin Feng's eyes snapped open, the fear replaced by a sense of unease.
"What's going on?" Lin Feng's voice was barely above a whisper, the words shaking with fear.
Xiao Zhan's gaze never wavered, the intensity in his eyes burning brighter than ever before.
"The game's not over, Lin Feng," Xiao Zhan's voice was low and menacing. "The game's just beginning."
And with that, the lights went out, plunging the room into darkness. Lin Feng's heart pounded in his chest, the fear gripping him like a vice.
But he knew he couldn't stay there, frozen in fear. He had to move, had to act. For his life depended on it.
As he slowly began to make his way out of the room, the darkness seemed to swallow him whole. He had no idea what lay ahead, no idea what Xiao Zhan had planned.
But he knew one thing for certain: he would not go down without a fight.
And with that, he disappeared into the darkness, leaving behind only the faintest glimmer of hope.
To be continued...
