重生之都市仙尊
**85th Chapter: The Calm Before the Storm**
Jiang Wanshan's eyes sparkled with excitement as he leaned against the railing, watching Lin Qingxue's stormy disposition unfold like a dark cloud on the horizon. Her rage was palpable, and he knew that it wouldn't be long before she lost control.
"You're playing with fire, Jiang Wanshan," she spat, her voice dripping with venom. "I'll never forgive you for what you've done."
Jiang Wanshan chuckled, his smile growing wider. "Ah, Lin Qingxue, you're so predictable. You think you're the only one who can play this game?"
Lin Qingxue's eyes blazed with fury, but Jiang Wanshan remained calm, his voice dripping with sincerity. "I've always known that our paths would cross again. And when they did, I'd be ready."
Without warning, Jiang Wanshan pushed off from the railing and strode towards Lin Qingxue, his long legs eating up the distance. Lin Qingxue's eyes widened in alarm as he drew closer, her hand instinctively reaching for the dagger at her waist.
"You think you can take me down, Lin Qingxue?" Jiang Wanshan sneered, his fingers closing around her wrist. "You're no match for me. I've been waiting for this moment for too long."
Lin Qingxue's eyes flashed with determination, and with a swift jerk, she freed herself from Jiang Wanshan's grip. "You may have underestimated me once before, Jiang Wanshan, but not this time. I won't let you get the better of me again!"
The air was electric with tension as the two adversaries faced off, their eyes locked in a silent challenge. Jiang Wanshan's smile never wavered, while Lin Qingxue's face contorted with rage.
And then, in a flash of movement, Jiang Wanshan vanished into thin air, leaving Lin Qingxue staring at the spot where he had stood. Her eyes narrowed, her lips curling into a snarl.
"Where did you go, Jiang Wanshan?" she spat, her voice echoing through the deserted streets.
As if in response, a faint whisper seemed to carry on the wind: "I'll be waiting for you, Lin Qingxue. When the time is right, I'll strike."
The words sent a shiver down Lin Qingxue's spine. She knew that Jiang Wanshan would stop at nothing to get what he wanted. And she was determined to be ready for him.
But as she turned to leave, a sudden gust of wind swept through the streets, extinguishing the lanterns and plunging the city into darkness. Lin Qingxue's eyes narrowed, her senses on high alert.
"What's going on?" she muttered to herself, her hand instinctively reaching for her dagger.
And then, in the darkness, a figure stepped out of the shadows, its eyes glowing with an otherworldly light...
