第50章 "Mirror's Dark Revelation"
诸天万界之旅
**Chapter 50: The Shadow's Whisper**
Lin Yuan's eyes narrowed as he stared at the mirror, his reflection staring back at him with an unnerving calmness. The words echoed in his mind, "Reflections of the Soul's Darkest Secrets". He shivered, despite the warmth of the summer evening. The ancient scroll's secrets still lingered in his mind, and he couldn't shake off the feeling that he was being watched.
Suddenly, the mirror's surface rippled, like water disturbed by a stone. Lin Yuan's heart skipped a beat as a figure began to take shape within the glass. It was a woman, her face deathly pale, with eyes that seemed to hold a thousand secrets.
"Who are you?" Lin Yuan demanded, trying to sound braver than he felt.
The woman's gaze drifted away from his, as if she was searching for something beyond the mirror. "I am the echo of your soul," she whispered, her voice like a sigh on the wind. "The shadow that lurks within."
Lin Yuan's grip on the mirror's edge tightened. "What do you want from me?"
The woman's eyes snapped back to his, and Lin Yuan felt a shiver run down his spine. "I am the keeper of the secrets you've uncovered. The prophecy speaks of a great power, one that can tip the balance of the worlds. And I will stop at nothing to claim it."
Lin Yuan's determination had never been stronger. "I won't let you have it," he vowed, his voice steady.
The woman's smile was a cold, mirthless thing. "We'll see about that," she whispered, and the mirror's surface rippled once more.
As the woman vanished, Lin Yuan felt a strange sensation, as if the mirror had become a portal to another world. He hesitated for a moment, then pushed the mirror forward. The glass shattered on the floor, and Lin Yuan stepped through the broken fragments, into the unknown.
As he disappeared, the room was left in silence, except for the faint whisper of the woman's voice, echoing in the dark. "The shadow in the mirror, the secrets of the soul...the balance of the worlds is about to be upset."
To be continued...
