**Chapter 81: The Price of Sacrifice**
White Xiaopu's eyes never left the glow as he continued to move forward, his senses on high alert. The air grew thicker, the silence more oppressive. Suddenly, the glow intensified, illuminating the dark recesses of the cave.
"You dare to trespass here?" a voice thundered, shaking the very foundations of the cave.
White Xiaopu's heart skipped a beat as he beheld a figure emerging from the shadows. The figure was tall, imposing, with eyes that seemed to bore into his very soul.
"Who are you?" White Xiaopu asked, his voice steady despite the turmoil within.
"I am the Guardian of the Abyss," the figure replied, its voice like a crack of thunder. "And you, mortal, are trespassing on sacred ground."
White Xiaopu swallowed hard, his mind racing. He had to think fast, come up with a plan to escape. But before he could, the Guardian spoke again.
"You have disturbed the balance of the Abyss. To restore it, you must make a sacrifice."
White Xiaopu's eyes narrowed. "What kind of sacrifice?"

White Xiaopu hesitated, his heart torn. He thought of his friends, his family, all the people he loved. What could he possibly give up that would be worth the price?
But the Guardian was unforgiving. "The choice is yours, mortal. Will you pay the price of knowledge, or will you turn back and forever remain in the dark?"
White Xiaopu took a deep breath, his decision made. He would pay the price, no matter the cost.
"I'll do it," he said, his voice firm.
The Guardian nodded, its eyes gleaming with anticipation. "Then let us begin."
As the Guardian reached out to take White Xiaopu's hand, a faint voice echoed in his mind.
"Wait, Xiaopu! Don't do it!"
White Xiaopu's eyes snapped towards the cave entrance, where he saw a figure silhouetted against the light of day.
"Who is that?" the Guardian asked, its voice dripping with malice.
"M-my friend," White Xiaopu replied, his voice trembling.
The Guardian's eyes narrowed. "Ah, a friend. How... interesting."
And with that, the Guardian's grip on White Xiaopu's hand tightened, pulling him deeper into the abyss...
