第54章 "Silence Before the Tempest"

一念永恒

**Chapter 54: The Calm Before the Storm**

The silence that followed was oppressive, as if the weight of Li Xuan's gaze was crushing the air from the temple's ancient stones. White Xiaopu, undeterred by the old man's unyielding stare, took a step forward, his eyes locked on Li Xuan's.

"You're not going to silence me," White Xiaopu declared, his voice firm and unwavering. "Not now, not ever."

Li Xuan's expression didn't change, but his eyes seemed to narrow even further, as if he were focusing all his attention on the young cultivator.

"Silence you?" Li Xuan repeated, his voice low and even. "I'm not trying to silence you, boy. I'm trying to warn you."

White Xiaopu's gaze never wavered. "Warn me? What do you know that I don't?"

Li Xuan's eyes seemed to bore into White Xiaopu's very soul. "I know that you're playing with forces beyond your control. Forces that will destroy you, and everyone you care about."

White Xiaopu's face twisted in rage, his eyes flashing with anger. "You don't understand anything! You're just a relic of the past, stuck in your own outdated ways!"

Li Xuan's expression didn't change, but his voice grew colder. "I understand more than you think, boy. And I'm not the only one who does."

As Li Xuan spoke, the air in the temple began to stir, as if a subtle energy was building. White Xiaopu's eyes flicked towards the old man, and for a moment, he saw something there that made his heart skip a beat.

"Who else?" White Xiaopu demanded, his voice trembling with a mix of fear and defiance.

Li Xuan's gaze never wavered. "Those who would see the world burn, to bring about a new era of power and dominance. And you, boy, are playing right into their hands."

The words hung in the air, heavy with foreboding. White Xiaopu's eyes seemed to freeze, as if he were staring into the abyss itself. And in that moment, he knew that Li Xuan was telling the truth.

But it was too late. The seeds of chaos had already been sown, and the storm was brewing on the horizon. White Xiaopu's declaration had set the wheels in motion, and now there was no turning back.

As the ancient temple trembled with the weight of the words, White Xiaopu felt a strange sensation building within him. It was as if his very essence was being reshaped, his fate rewritten. And in that moment, he knew that he was doomed to be the spark that ignited the inferno.

The storm was coming, and White Xiaopu was about to find himself right at its eye.
