**Chapter 37: The Betrayal**

White Xiaopu's face twisted in a mix of shock, anger, and betrayal as he gazed at the group of young cultivators before him. They were his own men, the ones he had trained and trusted with his life. But now, they stood before him, their eyes gleaming with a sinister intent.

"You sons of bitches!" White Xiaopu's voice rose to a thunderous roar, his fists clenched as he took a step forward. "How could you do this to me? I thought we were brothers, united in our pursuit of cultivation!"

The group remained motionless, their faces a mask of cold calculation. It was as if they had been waiting for this moment, for White Xiaopu to break free from his restraints and unleash his fury.

"Who sent you?" White Xiaopu's eyes scanned the group, searching for any sign of weakness or vulnerability. But there was none. They were a united front, a well-oiled machine designed to take him down.

"We were sent by someone who cares about your well-being," a voice chimed in, cold and detached. White Xiaopu's gaze settled on the speaker, a young cultivator with an androgynous face and piercing green eyes.

"Who?" White Xiaopu's voice was a growl, his patience wearing thin.

"Liu Wulai," the cultivator replied, his voice unwavering. White Xiaopu's eyes widened in shock, his mind reeling with the implications.

"Why?" White Xiaopu's voice was a snarl, his anger boiling over.

"Because you're a threat to her plans," the cultivator replied, his tone devoid of emotion. "You see, White Xiaopu, you're not as special as you think you are. You're just a pawn in a much larger game, and Liu Wulai is the one who holds the strings."

White Xiaopu's eyes flashed with anger, his fists clenching as he took a step forward. "You're lying," he spat, his voice venomous. "Liu Wulai would never betray me."

The cultivator smiled, a cold, calculating smile. "Oh, but she has. And you're about to find out why."

As the words left the cultivator's lips, the air seemed to thicken, heavy with anticipation. White Xiaopu's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with the implications. He knew that he had to get out of there, to escape and regroup. But how?

The cultivator's words hung in the air, a challenge to White Xiaopu's very existence. And in that moment, White Xiaopu knew that his world was about to be turned upside down.
