第161章 "Deception Unraveled"

一念永恒

**Chapter 161: The Web of Deception**

White Xiaopu's fist connected with the stranger's jaw, sending him stumbling backward. The two of them stood there, panting, as the air was thick with tension.

"You're telling me that I've been a pawn in your game?" White Xiaopu's voice was laced with venom. "That everything I thought I knew was a lie?"

The stranger slowly rose to his feet, his eyes never leaving White Xiaopu's face. "Yes," he replied, his voice level. "But not entirely. You have been a significant piece in the game, one that has the potential to tip the balance in favor of either side."

White Xiaopu's anger was starting to give way to confusion. "What do you mean?" he demanded.

The stranger smiled, a cold, calculating smile. "You see, White Xiaopu, you are a blank slate. A canvas waiting to be filled with colors of your own choosing. And I have been manipulating the brushstrokes, guiding your hand to create the masterpiece I desire."

White Xiaopu's eyes narrowed. "You're saying that you've been controlling me, manipulating me to do your bidding?"

The stranger chuckled. "Not controlling you, exactly. More like... guiding you. You have free will, White Xiaopu. But sometimes, a little nudge in the right direction can be very... enlightening."

White Xiaopu's fists clenched, his anger boiling over once more. "You're trying to gaslight me!" he spat.

The stranger's smile never wavered. "Perhaps. But the truth is, White Xiaopu, that you are the one who has been playing both sides. You think you're fighting against the darkness, but in reality, you're just as culpable."

White Xiaopu's anger gave way to shock. "What are you talking about?" he demanded.

The stranger's eyes seemed to bore into his soul. "You know exactly what I'm talking about, White Xiaopu. You've been walking that fine line between light and darkness, but you've been leaning more and more towards the shadows. The question is, why?"

White Xiaopu felt a cold sweat trickle down his spine as he realized the truth. "You're saying that I've been... corrupted?"

The stranger nodded. "Yes, White Xiaopu. You've been corrupted by the very darkness you seek to defeat. And now, you have a choice to make. Do you continue down the path of destruction, or do you try to find your way back to the light?"

As the words hung in the air, White Xiaopu felt the world around him begin to spin. He felt like he was staring into an abyss, with no clear path forward. And then, just as suddenly, everything went black.

To be continued...
