第130章 "Deception's Dark Shadow"

一念永恒

**Chapter 130: The Shadow of Doubt**

White Xiaopu's eyes locked onto the stranger's, his mind racing with the implications of the words that had just been spoken. "What do you mean?" he asked, his voice low and even, but his heart pounding in his chest.

The stranger's smile grew wider, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Oh, I think you know exactly what I mean, White Xiaopu. Your little stunt at the Golden Pavilion was rather...unusual. And the fact that you're standing here now, unharmed, suggests that you have certain...connections."

White Xiaopu's instincts screamed at him to deny it, to play dumb and innocent. But something about the stranger's words resonated with him. He had indeed made a pact with the mysterious figure, one that had granted him his newfound power, but at what cost?

The silence that followed was oppressive, heavy with tension. The stranger's eyes seemed to bore into White Xiaopu's very soul, as if searching for the truth. White Xiaopu felt his face grow hot, his palms sweating, as he struggled to come up with a response.

"Who are you?" he asked finally, his voice shaking slightly. "What do you want from me?"

The stranger chuckled, a low, menacing sound. "Oh, I think you know me, White Xiaopu. You've seen me before, in your dreams. I am the one who has been guiding you, nudging you towards your destiny."

White Xiaopu's eyes widened in shock as the stranger's words struck home. He remembered the figure, tall and imposing, with eyes that seemed to burn with an inner fire. He remembered the feeling of being pulled towards him, of being drawn into a world of secrets and lies.

"Y-you're the one who's been helping me?" he stuttered, his mind reeling with the implications.

The stranger nodded, his smile growing wider. "Yes, White Xiaopu. And I will continue to help you, as long as you continue to play by the rules."

White Xiaopu's heart sank, his stomach churning with the weight of the stranger's words. He had thought he was in control, that he was making his own decisions. But now, he realized that he was just a pawn in a much larger game.

As the stranger turned to leave, White Xiaopu felt a surge of adrenaline coursing through his veins. He knew that he had to get out of there, to escape the stranger's clutches and find a way to break free from the web of lies that had ensnared him.

But as he turned to flee, he felt a hand on his shoulder, squeezing tight. "Don't go, White Xiaopu," the stranger whispered, his breath cold and menacing. "You have so much more to learn."

And with that, everything went black.
