第106章 "Beyond the Veil of Deceit"

一念永恒

**Chapter 106: The Vortex of Truth**

The whispers grew louder, more urgent, as if the very essence of the courtyard was conspiring against White Xiaopu. He sat up, his heart racing, as a figure emerged from the shadows. It was Ling'er, her eyes gleaming with an otherworldly intensity.

"You're awake," she said, her voice low and husky. "Good. I've been waiting for you."

White Xiaopu's hand instinctively went to the Blood Oath, his mind reeling with the implications. "What do you want, Ling'er?"

Ling'er smiled, her lips curling upwards like a snake's fangs. "I've come to reveal the truth. The secrets you've uncovered, the lies you've been fed – it's all about to unravel."

White Xiaopu's grip on the Blood Oath tightened. "What truth?"

Ling'er's eyes flashed with a fierce light. "The truth about the Blood Oath, about the people you trust, about the very fabric of this world. You think you're strong, Xiaopu, but you're just a pawn in a game much larger than you can comprehend."

The courtyard seemed to grow darker, the shadows deepening as Ling'er's words hung in the air like a challenge. White Xiaopu felt the weight of the Blood Oath settle upon him, the secrets and lies swirling around him like a vortex.

Suddenly, a figure appeared at the edge of the courtyard, silhouetted against the moon. It was the Master of the Cloud Pavilion, his eyes blazing with an unnatural power.

"Ling'er, what are you doing?" he growled, his voice like thunder.

Ling'er's smile faltered, but her eyes never wavered. "Just revealing the truth, Master," she said, her voice dripping with venom.

The Master's eyes narrowed, his gaze piercing the darkness. "You know nothing, Ling'er. You're just a pawn, like Xiaopu."

White Xiaopu's blood ran cold as the Master's words hung in the air. Pawn? What did he mean? The Master's eyes seemed to bore into his very soul, as if searching for something hidden.

And then, in the blink of an eye, everything went black.
