**87. Web of Deceit: The Web Unravels (Continued)**
Lin Chao's eyes seemed to bore into Old Ghost's soul, searching for any sign of deception. He knew that he was taking a huge risk by confronting the old man, but he couldn't just sit back and watch as his friend and mentor betrayed him.
Old Ghost's expression remained impassive, but Lin Chao could sense a hint of discomfort in his eyes. "I'm telling the truth, Lin Chao," he said calmly. "I didn't betray you. I swear it on my honor as a ghost."
Lin Chao's anger flared up again, and he took a step forward. "Don't play with me, Old Ghost. I know what I saw. I know you've been working with the Celestial Alliance behind my back."
Old Ghost's eyes flashed with anger, and his voice took on a menacing tone. "You're just jealous, Lin Chao. You're jealous of my power and my influence. You're jealous of the fact that I'm the one who's been chosen to lead the Heavenly Guild."
Lin Chao's face turned red with rage. "I'm not jealous of you, Old Ghost. I'm just tired of being stabbed in the back. I'm tired of being used and discarded. You're not the hero you claim to be. You're just a traitor who's using everyone for your own gain."
Old Ghost's eyes narrowed, and he took a step closer to Lin Chao. "You're just a foolish child, Lin Chao. You don't know what's at stake here. You don't know what it means to be a leader. You're just a pawn to be used and discarded."
Lin Chao's anger boiled over, and he launched himself at Old Ghost. The two of them crashed to the ground, their punches and kicks flying as they battled it out in the dark, cramped room.
Just as it seemed that Lin Chao was about to get the upper hand, the door to the room burst open, and a group of heavily armed guards stormed in. "Take Lin Chao away," one of them barked. "He's a threat to the Heavenly Guild."
Lin Chao's eyes widened in shock as the guards dragged him away, Old Ghost's words echoing in his mind. "You're just a pawn to be used and discarded."
