**74章:「权力之争」 (Contest of Military Authority)**
Lin Hao's words hung in the air like a challenge, his eyes blazing with a fire that seemed to dare Captain Zhang to deny him. The room was silent once more, but this time, the tension was electric.
Captain Zhang's face remained impassive, but his eyes narrowed slightly, as if he were sizing Lin Hao up. "Lin Hao, you're not thinking clearly," he said, his voice measured. "You're a promising young officer, but this is not a game. The fate of the mission hangs in the balance, and I won't let you compromise it."
Lin Hao's jaw clenched, his grip on the chair tightening. "Compromise it? You're the one who's compromising it, Captain. You're holding back the progress of the entire team because of your insecurities."
Captain Zhang's expression turned cold, his eyes glinting with a hint of anger. "Insecurities?" he repeated, his voice rising. "I'll have you know, Lin Hao, that I've spent years building this team, and I won't let some hot-headed young officer like you undermine all my hard work."
Lin Hao's face twisted in a mixture of anger and disgust. "You're not even listening to me, Captain," he spat. "I'm trying to tell you that we need a new strategy, a new approach. And you're too stuck in your ways to see it."
The room erupted into a cacophony of shouting and arguing, the two men standing nose to nose, their faces inches apart. The other team members watched in horror, unsure of what to do.
Just as it seemed like the situation was about to get out of hand, the door burst open, and Commander Li strode in, his eyes flashing with anger.
"What's going on here?" he thundered, his voice commanding attention. "I was told there was a serious disagreement over strategy. Tell me, Captain Zhang, what's the problem?"
Captain Zhang hesitated, his eyes darting to Lin Hao before answering. "Just a minor disagreement, Commander. Lin Hao here is upset over the way I'm running the mission."
Lin Hao's eyes snapped with anger. "You're not telling the truth, Captain," he accused, his voice low and deadly.
Commander Li's eyes narrowed, his gaze moving back and forth between the two men. "Enough," he snapped. "I'll settle this once and for all. Lin Hao, come with me."
Lin Hao's eyes locked onto Captain Zhang, a silent challenge between them. Without a word, he turned and followed Commander Li out of the room, leaving Captain Zhang seething with anger and the rest of the team in a state of shock.
As the door closed behind them, Lin Hao's mind raced with possibilities. What was Commander Li planning to do? Was he going to side with him, or was he going to crush his rebellion once and for all?
The outcome was far from certain, but one thing was clear: the stakes had just been raised to a whole new level. And only time would tell who would emerge victorious from this battle of wills...
