第144章 第144章

铁血战王

**144章:「暗夜的伏击」(Midnight's Ambush)**

Zhao Ti's team moved swiftly and silently, their footsteps muffled by the dense underbrush. They had been tracking the enemy's trail for hours, and finally, they had closed in. The ridge was just ahead, and Zhao Ti could feel the adrenaline coursing through his veins.

"Alpha, take position behind the rock. Bravo, get into overwatch," Zhao Ti whispered, his voice low and steady.

The team moved into position, their eyes scanning the ridge for any sign of movement. Zhao Ti's team had been ambushing enemy patrols for weeks, and they had honed their skills to perfection.

Suddenly, a figure appeared on the ridge, silhouetted against the moonlit sky. Zhao Ti's finger tightened around the trigger of his rifle.

"Hold fire," he whispered. "Let's get a better look."

The figure moved closer, and Zhao Ti's team trained their sights on it. It was a young man, no more than twenty years old, with a backpack slung over his shoulder. He looked lost and scared.

"Bravo, take him in," Zhao Ti whispered.

The team moved out, surrounding the young man with ease. Zhao Ti approached him, his rifle still trained on the young man's head.

"Who are you?" Zhao Ti demanded.

The young man looked up, his eyes wide with fear. "I-I'm just a messenger," he stammered. "I was sent to deliver a message to the enemy."

Zhao Ti's eyes narrowed. "What message?"

The young man hesitated, then pulled out a note from his pocket. "I was told to give this to the enemy commander," he said.

Zhao Ti snatched the note from the young man's hand and examined it. It was a message from the enemy, offering a truce and a withdrawal from the battleground. Zhao Ti's eyes narrowed further.

"This is a trick," he growled. "We can't trust them."

Just then, a burst of gunfire erupted from the ridge, sending the team scrambling for cover. The young man had been armed, and Zhao Ti's team had underestimated him.

Zhao Ti's eyes locked onto the young man, who was now trying to flee. "No you don't," he muttered, and took off after the young man.

The chase was on, with Zhao Ti hot on the young man's heels. But just as he thought he had him cornered, the young man vanished into the night, leaving Zhao Ti with more questions than answers.

And that was the last Zhao Ti saw of him.

The chapter ends with a cliffhanger, raising questions about the young man's true intentions and whether he will be seen again. The tension and suspense are heightened as Zhao Ti's team has to regroup and reassess their situation after the sudden ambush.
