**126章:「权力的游戏,权力之战—暗夜的追踪」(The Game of Power, Battle for Power—Midnight Pursuit)**
"Stay sharp, we don't know what's waiting for us ahead," Zhao Tianxiong whispered to his team.
The darkness was oppressive, making it difficult to distinguish friend from foe. The team's breathing was measured, their senses on high alert as they pushed forward. Suddenly, a faint rustling sound echoed through the forest, followed by the faint whisper of leaves.
"What's that?" Li Qing asked, his voice barely audible over the sound of their footsteps.
"Shh, listen," Zhao Tianxiong signaled, his eyes scanning the surroundings.
The rustling grew louder, and the team froze, their hearts pounding in unison. A figure emerged from the darkness, its features distorted by the shadows.
"Sergeant, I think we have a problem," Li Qing whispered, his hand reaching for his rifle.
The figure drew closer, its movements awkward and unsteady. Zhao Tianxiong's grip on his rifle tightened as he prepared for the worst.
Suddenly, the figure stumbled and fell, revealing a young soldier, no more than twenty years old. He looked up at Zhao Tianxiong with a pleading expression.
"Please, help me," he whispered, his voice trembling. "I got separated from my unit. I don't know where I am."
Zhao Tianxiong hesitated, his instincts screaming at him to be cautious. But something in the young soldier's eyes tugged at his heartstrings.
"Stay here," he whispered to his team. "I'll go check it out."
As he approached the young soldier, Zhao Tianxiong noticed that he was injured, a gash on his forehead oozing blood.
"Who are you?" Zhao Tianxiong asked, his voice low and even.
"My name is Wang Wei," the young soldier replied, his eyes welling up with tears. "I was part of the 121st Battalion. We were on a reconnaissance mission when we got ambushed. I don't know what happened to the others."
Zhao Tianxiong's instincts screamed at him to get out of there, to regroup with his team and get back to base. But something about Wang Wei's story didn't add up.
"Just stay here," he whispered, his eyes scanning the surroundings. "I'll get help."
But as he turned to leave, Zhao Tianxiong caught a glimpse of movement out of the corner of his eye. A figure, tall and imposing, emerged from the shadows, its eyes fixed on Wang Wei.
"Zhao Tianxiong, we have company," Li Qing whispered, his voice low and urgent.
Zhao Tianxiong's heart sank as he realized that they were walking into a trap. The question was, who was behind it? And what did they want with Wang Wei?
The darkness seemed to close in around them, and Zhao Tianxiong knew that their survival depended on making the right move. But as he looked at Wang Wei, he couldn't shake the feeling that something was very wrong.
"To be continued..."
