铁血战王

**111章:「权力的游戏,权力之战—暗夜的觉醒」(The Game of Power, Battle for Power—Midnight Awakening)**

Zhao Tianxiong's eyes flashed with a hint of excitement as he continued to probe Captain Zhang's enigmatic words. "What do you mean, Captain? What's the true purpose of our mission?"

Captain Zhang's expression turned guarded, his voice taking on a slightly cryptic tone. "Let's just say, Zhao, that our orders have changed. The situation on the ground has... evolved. We need to adapt."

Zhao Tianxiong's brow furrowed in concern. "Evolved? What are you talking about, Captain? Is it something to do with the rumors of a rogue agent within our ranks?"

Captain Zhang's eyes darted around the room, his voice barely above a whisper. "I'm not at liberty to discuss that, Zhao. Just remember, our mission has changed. We need to be prepared for anything."

As the captain's words hung in the air, the room fell silent. Zhao Tianxiong's mind raced with possibilities, his instincts screaming that something was amiss. He glanced around the room, searching for any sign of what was really going on.

Just then, the door burst open, and a young soldier, fresh from the infirmary, stumbled into the room. "Captain Zhang, sir! We've received a distress call from the observation post! They're under attack!"

Captain Zhang's eyes snapped to the young soldier, his expression grim. "What's the situation?"

The soldier panted, his eyes wild with fear. "They're being overrun, sir! We can't hold out for much longer!"

The room erupted into chaos as orders were barked and soldiers scrambled to respond. Zhao Tianxiong felt his heart pounding in his chest as he grabbed his gear and followed the others out into the night.

As they rushed towards the observation post, the darkness seemed to swallow them whole, the only sound the distant crackle of gunfire and the screams of the wounded. Zhao Tianxiong's senses were on high alert, his training kicking in as he readied himself for battle.

But as they approached the post, a strange feeling crept over him. Something didn't feel right. The enemy seemed to be... waiting. And then, a chilling thought occurred to him: what if this wasn't just a simple ambush?

As the battle raged on, Zhao Tianxiong's instincts screamed at him to be cautious. He glanced around, searching for any sign of what was really going on. And that's when he saw it: a shadowy figure, lurking just beyond the treeline, watching them with cold, calculating eyes...

To be continued...
