铁血战王
**109章:「权力的游戏,权力之战—暗夜的觉醒」(The Game of Power, Battle for Power—Midnight Awakening)**
Zhao Tianxiong's eyes locked onto Captain Zhang's, his heart racing with anticipation. "You're saying that the mysterious 'Midnight Men' are involved in our current mission?" he asked, his voice low and even.
Captain Zhang's expression remained inscrutable, but his words were laced with a hint of warning. "Let's just say that we're not dealing with ordinary enemies. The stakes have been raised, and we need to be prepared for anything."
Zhao Tianxiong's grip on his rifle tightened as he processed the information. He had a bad feeling about this mission, and now it seemed that his worst fears were being confirmed.
As they continued to move through the darkness, Zhao couldn't shake the feeling that they were being watched. He glanced around, his eyes scanning the shadows, but saw nothing out of the ordinary.
Suddenly, his radio crackled to life. "Captain, we've detected movement three hundred meters northwest of our position," a voice whispered. "Unknown number of hostiles. Requesting backup."
Captain Zhang's eyes snapped towards Zhao. "Get moving, Tianxiong. We need to get eyes on the situation."
Zhao sprinted forward, his rifle at the ready. As he emerged from the treeline, he was met with a scene of chaos. A group of heavily armed men, clad in black, were engaged in a fierce firefight with a team of his comrades.
Zhao's heart sank as he took in the situation. They were outnumbered and outgunned, and he knew that they couldn't hold out for much longer.
That was when he saw her – a mysterious figure, dressed in black, who seemed to be watching the battle with an air of detachment. Her eyes locked onto Zhao's, and he felt a shiver run down his spine.
"Who are you?" he demanded, his rifle trained on her.
The figure didn't respond, but instead raised her hand, and the fighting around them suddenly ceased. The black-clad men dropped to the ground, and Zhao's comrades stood frozen, their guns slackening in their hands.
Captain Zhang's voice came over the radio, his tone urgent. "Tianxiong, what's going on? Report!"
Zhao's eyes never left the mysterious figure. "Captain, we have a situation here. We need backup, and we need it now."
But as he waited for response, he couldn't shake the feeling that they were trapped, and that the real game was only just beginning.
And then, just as suddenly as it had started, everything went dark.
To be continued...
