Xie Yuan's stormy emotions had reached a boiling point. He couldn't help but think about Lin Wan'er's deceit and the pain she had caused him. His eyes narrowed as he thought about the countless times he had trusted her, only to be betrayed.

"What did you gain from deceiving me?" Xie Yuan's voice was low and menacing, his words dripping with malice.

Lin Wan'er, who had been watching Xie Yuan with a mixture of fear and defiance, took a step back. "I did it for my family," she said, her voice trembling. "My parents were in debt, and I needed the money to pay it off."

Xie Yuan's expression didn't change, but his eyes seemed to bore into Lin Wan'er's very soul. "Your family?" he repeated, his tone heavy with disdain. "You used me to get money for your family? You used me like a pawn in your game of deceit!"

Lin Wan'er's eyes welled up with tears. "I'm sorry, Xie Yuan. I didn't mean to hurt you. I was desperate, and I didn't think it would hurt you so much."

Xie Yuan's anger boiled over, and he took a step closer to Lin Wan'er. "You didn't think it would hurt me? You didn't think at all! You just used me for your own gain, didn't you?"

Just as Xie Yuan was about to strike, a voice echoed through the room. "Xie Yuan, stop!"

It was Shen Mei, who had been watching the scene unfold with a mixture of shock and concern. Xie Yuan's eyes flashed towards her, and for a moment, it seemed as though he would ignore her warning.

But then, something seemed to snap inside him, and he took a deep breath. "Leave us," he said to Shen Mei, his voice cold and detached.

Shen Mei hesitated, then backed away, her eyes fixed on Lin Wan'er with a mixture of pity and disgust. "I'll never forgive you," she whispered, before turning and fleeing the room.

Xie Yuan's eyes locked onto Lin Wan'er once more. "You're going to pay for what you did," he said, his voice dripping with malice.

Lin Wan'er's eyes went wide with fear as she realized that Xie Yuan was beyond redemption, consumed by his own anger and hurt. She knew that she had to get out of there, and fast, before Xie Yuan did something he would regret.

As she turned to flee, Xie Yuan's voice echoed through the room once more. "You'll never be able to hide from me again, Lin Wan'er. I'll find you, no matter where you go."

Lin Wan'er didn't need to look back to know that Xie Yuan's words were a promise, one that she would soon find out was all too real.
