第93章 "Deceit's Silent Scream"
天龙傲世
**Chapter 93: The Web of Deceit Unravels Further**
Xie Yuan's anger had given way to a sense of numbness as he stared at Lin Wan'er. He couldn't believe he had trusted her, thought she was his friend. The woman he once thought was innocent had revealed her true colors, and now he felt like he was staring at a stranger.
"You're right," he said, his voice flat. "I am a fool. I should have known better."
Lin Wan'er's smile was cold and calculating. "You would have been a great pawn in my game, Xie Yuan. But you're just too...impulsive. You can't be controlled."
Xie Yuan's eyes flashed with anger, but he kept his temper in check. He knew he had to think clearly if he was going to get out of this situation alive.
"What do you want, Lin Wan'er?" he asked, his voice dripping with venom.
"I want to take care of some...unfinished business," she replied, her eyes glinting with malice. "You see, there's someone who's been a thorn in my side for a long time. Someone who thinks they can challenge my authority."
Xie Yuan's mind was racing. He knew that Lin Wan'er was referring to someone in the martial arts world, someone who dared to challenge her power. But who?
"I think I know who you're talking about," he said, his voice low and menacing. "And I'm not going to let you get to them."
Lin Wan'er's smile grew wider. "Oh, I think you will," she said. "You see, I have a little insurance policy. Something that will make sure you do exactly what I want."
Xie Yuan's eyes narrowed. He knew he was in trouble. Lin Wan'er had something on him, something that would make him do her bidding. But what?
"We'll see about that," he said, his voice firm.
Lin Wan'er laughed, a cold, cruel sound. "Oh, we will," she said. "We will."
As they stood there, locked in a silent struggle, Xie Yuan knew that he had to get out of there, and fast. He had to come up with a plan to take down Lin Wan'er and get his revenge. But for now, he was trapped, at her mercy.
And as he looked into her eyes, he knew that he was in for the fight of his life.
