第75章 "Truth Behind the Veil"

天龙傲世

**Chapter 75: The Web of Deceit Unraveling**

Xie Yuan's eyes never left Lin Wan'er's, his gaze burning with an unyielding intensity. "I'm giving you one last chance, Lin Wan'er. Tell me the truth. Who is behind this manipulation?"

Lin Wan'er's expression remained inscrutable, her voice steady as she replied, "I've told you everything I know, Xie Yuan. I assure you, I'm not hiding anything."

Xie Yuan's face twisted in a scowl. "Don't lie to me, Lin Wan'er. I've seen the look in your eyes. You're hiding something. And I'll get to the bottom of it, no matter what it takes."

Just then, the door burst open, and a figure strode into the room. "Ah, Xie Yuan, I see you're still questioning Lin Wan'er," said the figure, a sly smile spreading across his face.

Xie Yuan's eyes narrowed. "Zhang Wei, what are you doing here?"

Zhang Wei chuckled. "I heard rumors of a certain Web of Deceit, and I couldn't help but drop by to see what all the fuss was about. After all, I have a certain... familiarity with the subject matter."

Xie Yuan's grip on his sword tightened. "What do you know about the Web of Deceit, Zhang Wei?"

Zhang Wei's smile grew wider. "Oh, just that it's a very tangled web indeed. And I'm not sure who's pulling the strings, but I'm willing to bet it's not Lin Wan'er."

Xie Yuan's eyes flashed with anger. "You're trying to distract me, Zhang Wei. Well, it won't work. I'll find the truth, no matter what it takes."

Lin Wan'er's voice cut through the tension. "Xie Yuan, wait. Perhaps Zhang Wei is telling the truth. Maybe we're looking at this from the wrong angle."

Xie Yuan's gaze snapped back to Lin Wan'er. "What are you suggesting, Lin Wan'er?"

Lin Wan'er took a deep breath. "I think we need to consider the possibility that the true culprit is someone close to us. Someone we trust."

Xie Yuan's eyes began to burn with a fierce determination. "Then we'll find out who that someone is, no matter what it takes. We'll unravel this web of deceit, and bring the truth to light."

As the words left his lips, the room fell silent. The air was charged with an electric sense of anticipation, as the trio gazed at each other, waiting for the other shoe to drop.

But just as it seemed like they were about to take the next step, the door burst open once more, and a figure strode in, eyes blazing with an unmistakable look of fury.

"Xie Yuan, you fool!" the figure spat, charging towards him with a sword raised high. "You think you can unravel the Web of Deceit? Ha! You'll never make it out of this room alive!"

Xie Yuan's eyes locked onto the figure, his grip on his sword tightening. "Who are you?" he demanded, his voice cold and deadly.

The figure's face twisted with rage. "I am the one who's been pulling the strings all along. And you, Xie Yuan, are just a pawn in my game."

The room erupted into chaos, as the trio clashed swords, the sound of steel ringing out in a deadly dance. The Web of Deceit had finally begun to unravel, but at what cost? Only time would tell.
