第134章 "Silence Before the Storm"
天龙傲世
**Chapter 134: The Reckoning**
The aftermath of the showdown between Xie Yuan and Lin Wan'er was still settling, like a storm cloud hovering over the inn. The patrons, sensing the gravity of the situation, kept their distance, whispering among themselves in hushed tones.
Xie Yuan's eyes never left Lin Wan'er, his gaze still burning with a fierce intensity. The air was heavy with tension, and the silence was oppressive, like a physical weight crushing the breath from their lungs.
"You're a liar," Lin Wan'er spat, her voice low and venomous. "You promised me you'd help me take down the Golden Dragon Clan, but instead, you chose to betray me."
Xie Yuan's expression remained impassive, but his voice was like a cold blade slicing through the air. "I never promised you anything, Lin Wan'er. You're just a pawn in a much larger game. And as for the Golden Dragon Clan, they're just a minor inconvenience."
Lin Wan'er's eyes flashed with anger, her face twisted in rage. "You're a monster," she snarled, her hand reaching for the hilt of her sword.
Xie Yuan's eyes flickered with amusement, his gaze never leaving hers. "Ah, Lin Wan'er, you're so predictable. You think you can take on the Golden Dragon Clan alone? You think you can take on me?"
The patrons of the inn gasped, sensing the brewing storm. Xie Yuan's words were like a challenge, a gauntlet thrown at Lin Wan'er's feet.
With a sudden burst of speed, Lin Wan'er drew her sword, the blade flashing in the dim light of the inn. Xie Yuan smiled, a cold, calculating smile, and drew his own sword, the steel singing as it left its scabbard.
The air was electric with tension as the two swordsmen faced off, the patrons of the inn scattering to get out of the way. The innkeeper, a stout man with a bushy beard, stepped forward, his eyes wide with fear.
"Please, don't fight here!" he begged, his voice trembling.
But Xie Yuan and Lin Wan'er were beyond reason, their hatred and anger fueling their combat. The swords clashed, sparks flying as the two warriors exchanged blows.
The inn was a battleground, the patrons scattering to get out of the way as the swords flashed and clashed. Xie Yuan and Lin Wan'er fought with every ounce of strength they had, their movements lightning-fast and deadly.
And then, just as it seemed that one of them was about to emerge victorious, a figure burst into the inn, a figure that would change the course of the battle forever...
