天龙傲世

**Chapter 115: The Betrayal**

The air was electric with tension as Xie Yuan and Lin Wan'er stood facing each other, their eyes locked in a fierce stare. The silence between them was palpable, the only sound the soft rustling of the wind through the trees.

"You're hiding something, Lin Wan'er," Xie Yuan repeated, his voice low and urgent. "And I'm going to find out what it is."

Lin Wan'er's eyes flashed with anger, and for a moment, Xie Yuan thought he saw a glimmer of something else beneath the surface - fear? Guilt? But it was quickly masked by a cold, calculating smile.

"Oh, Xie Yuan," she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "You're so paranoid. Why would I hide anything from you?"

Xie Yuan's eyes narrowed. "Don't play dumb with me, Lin Wan'er. I know you too well. You're not as innocent as you seem."

Lin Wan'er's smile faltered for a moment, and Xie Yuan's heart skipped a beat. He knew he was getting close to the truth.

Suddenly, Lin Wan'er's expression changed, her eyes flashing with a cold, calculating light. "You know what, Xie Yuan?" she said, her voice dripping with venom. "I think it's time we settled this once and for all."

Without warning, she launched herself at Xie Yuan, her hands flashing with a deadly precision. Xie Yuan was caught off guard, but he quickly recovered, his own hands moving with a deadly fluidity as he countered her attack.

The two of them clashed, their movements lightning-fast as they exchanged blow after blow. The air was filled with the sound of clashing steel, and the ground shook beneath their feet.

Just when it seemed that Xie Yuan was gaining the upper hand, Lin Wan'er's eyes seemed to flash with a sudden burst of power, and she delivered a devastating kick that sent Xie Yuan flying across the clearing.

As Xie Yuan struggled to get to his feet, he saw Lin Wan'er standing over him, her eyes blazing with a cold, calculating light.

"You should have stayed out of this, Xie Yuan," she said, her voice dripping with menace. "Now, you're just a liability."

And with that, she turned and disappeared into the trees, leaving Xie Yuan to pick himself up and wonder what he had just gotten himself into.

The question echoed in his mind as he looked around at the deserted clearing. What had Lin Wan'er been hiding? And what had she just done to him?

As he stood there, trying to make sense of the chaos, he heard the distant sound of horse's hooves. It was the sound of his own horse, the majestic stallion that had been his faithful companion for years.

But something was off. The sound was wrong, the rhythm of the hooves uneven. And then, Xie Yuan saw it - a faint trail of blood leading from the clearing, out into the darkness of the forest.

His heart racing with a growing sense of dread, Xie Yuan followed the trail, his senses on high alert. What had happened to his horse? And what lay waiting for him in the darkness ahead?
