第103章 "Midnight Strike"

天龙傲世

**Chapter 103: The Silent Assault**

Xie Yuan's gaze swept across the rooftop, his eyes narrowing as he took in the group of figures before him. Lin Wan'er's accomplices, a motley crew of assassins and thieves, had been expecting him. But they had no idea what was about to hit them.

Without a word, Xie Yuan charged forward, his movements a blur as he launched himself at the group. His fists flew in a flurry of punches and kicks, each one aimed with precision and deadly force.

The group stumbled back, caught off guard by the sudden attack. But they were far from helpless. With a snarl, the leader of the group, a burly man with a cruel face, drew a pair of daggers and charged at Xie Yuan.

"You're a fool for coming here," the man sneered. "You'll never leave this rooftop alive."

Xie Yuan dodged the daggers with ease, using his agility to evade the attacks. But he knew he couldn't keep this up for long. He needed to end this fight quickly, before the group could call for reinforcements.

With a swift kick, Xie Yuan sent the leader flying across the rooftop, where he landed with a thud. The rest of the group hesitated, unsure of what to do next.

"Finish them," Xie Yuan growled, his eyes flashing with a fierce intensity. "Now."

Without hesitation, the group launched themselves at Xie Yuan, determined to take him down. But Xie Yuan was ready for them. With a burst of speed, he dispatched the group one by one, using every trick and technique at his disposal.

When the dust settled, Xie Yuan stood victorious, his chest heaving with exhaustion. The group lay at his feet, defeated and broken.

But his sense of triumph was short-lived. As he turned to leave the rooftop, he saw a figure standing in the shadows, watching him with cold, calculating eyes.

"Lin Wan'er," Xie Yuan growled, his instincts screaming at him to be careful.

"Ah, Xie Yuan," Lin Wan'er purred, her voice dripping with venom. "I didn't think you'd actually catch my little accomplices. But I suppose you're just lucky."

Xie Yuan's eyes narrowed. "What do you want, Lin Wan'er?"

Lin Wan'er smiled sweetly. "Oh, I just wanted to see the look on your face when you realized you'd been played. You see, my dear Xie Yuan, you've been too focused on the wrong things. You've been busy taking down my little pawns, but you've forgotten about the queen."

With that, Lin Wan'er vanished into thin air, leaving Xie Yuan stunned and confused. What did she mean? How had she managed to one-up him? And what was she planning next?

As Xie Yuan stood there, trying to make sense of the situation, he knew one thing was certain: the game had just gotten a whole lot more complicated. And he was about to find himself in the crosshairs of a very powerful and ruthless enemy.
