Xie Yuan's eyes never left the rooftop as he descended from the drainpipe, his movements silent as a ghost. He had been waiting for this moment for what felt like an eternity, and he was not about to let it slip away.

As he landed on the rooftop, he spotted Lin Wan'er's accomplices – a group of rough-looking men, armed to the teeth. They were too busy arguing with each other to notice his arrival.

"Ah, just in time to join the party," Xie Yuan said, his voice low and menacing.

The men spun around, their eyes widening in surprise. One of them, a burly man with a thick beard, sneered at Xie Yuan. "Well, well, well. Look what we have here. The famous Xie Yuan, the dragon with a grudge against the world."

Xie Yuan's eyes narrowed. "You're one of Lin Wan'er's dogs, I presume?"

The bearded man chuckled. "Guilty as charged. And you're just in time to join the party. We're about to take down the city's richest merchant, courtesy of a little inside information... courtesy of Lin Wan'er herself."

Xie Yuan's face twisted into a snarl. "You'll never take him down. I'll make sure of it."

The bearded man sneered again. "Oh, I think we will. You're just one man, Xie Yuan. We have numbers on our side."

Xie Yuan smiled, a cold, calculating smile. "You're right. I'm just one man. But I have something that you don't – the favor of the Heavens. And with it, I will take you all down."

The bearded man laughed, but Xie Yuan could see the doubt in his eyes. He knew that he was playing with fire, but he was determined to see it through.

"Let's see who's the stronger," Xie Yuan said, drawing his sword.

The bearded man snarled, drawing his own sword. "I'll show you who's stronger."

The two men clashed, their swords ringing out in the night air. The other accomplices watched in awe as the two men fought, their movements a blur of steel and fury.

But just as it seemed like Xie Yuan was gaining the upper hand, a figure dropped down from the roof, a dark figure that sent a shiver down Xie Yuan's spine...
