第90章 "Silent Secrets Unraveled"

太古神王

**Chapter 90: The Unyielding Soul**

The atmosphere was so thick with tension that even the air seemed to vibrate with the weight of the unspoken words. Qin Wentian's eyes remained locked onto Chu Ling'er, his gaze burning with an intensity that seemed to pierce through the veil of time.

"You're hiding something, Chu Ling'er," he said, his voice low and even, but with a hint of menace lurking beneath the surface.

Chu Ling'er's eyes flashed with a mix of defiance and fear. "What are you talking about?" she asked, her voice trembling slightly.

Qin Wentian's expression remained unchanged, but his eyes seemed to bore deeper into hers. "Don't play dumb with me, Chu Ling'er. I know you're hiding something. Tell me the truth."

Chu Ling'er's face paled, and she seemed to shrink back into herself. "I...I don't know what you're talking about," she stammered.

Qin Wentian's eyes narrowed. "Don't lie to me. I can see the truth in your eyes. You're hiding something, and I'm going to find out what it is."

Chu Ling'er's eyes welled up with tears, and she seemed to be on the verge of breaking down. "I...I promise I'll tell you the truth, Qin Wentian. Just please, don't hurt me."

Qin Wentian's expression softened slightly, but his eyes remained cold and unyielding. "I won't hurt you, Chu Ling'er. At least, not yet. But you need to understand something. I'm not going to let anyone get in my way, not even you. If you're hiding something, then you're putting yourself in danger."

Chu Ling'er's tears spilled over, and she broke down, sobbing uncontrollably. Qin Wentian's face remained impassive, but his eyes seemed to burn with an inner fire.

Just as it seemed that Chu Ling'er was on the verge of revealing the truth, a cold voice cut through the air. "Qin Wentian, I think it's time for you to learn the truth."

Qin Wentian's eyes snapped towards the speaker, his expression darkening. It was none other than the mysterious figure, Xiahou Yue, who had been watching them from the shadows.

"I've been waiting for this moment," Xiahou Yue said, his eyes glinting with a cold, calculating light. "You see, Qin Wentian, Chu Ling'er is not who she seems to be. She's not even human."

Qin Wentian's eyes widened in shock, and Chu Ling'er's tears stopped abruptly. "What do you mean?" Qin Wentian demanded, his voice low and deadly.

Xiahou Yue smiled, his eyes glinting with a malevolent light. "You'll find out soon enough. But for now, let's just say that Chu Ling'er has a secret that could change the course of history."

As the words hung in the air, the atmosphere seemed to grow even thicker, the tension building to a crescendo. Qin Wentian's eyes seemed to bore into Xiahou Yue's very soul, as if daring him to reveal more.

But before he could say anything else, darkness descended, and everything went black.
